A 43-year-old Nigerian man, identified as Abimbola David from Woolwich, has been detained by London police for allegedly engaging in inappropriate communications with a minor.

According to a report from Saving our Children’s Futures, Abimbola, who is married with two children and on a student visa, started chatting with a 14-year-old girl online and made inappropriate requests.

He asked the girl about her virginity and also for indecent photos of her despite knowing her real age.

The girl reported him with evidence, leading to his arrest.

Now here it is...dating apps say 18 years and above. So for you to be in that app, it is assumed you're 18 years or older or you possibly lied about your age which is deceitful.
So I don't know, but he can argue that he didn't believe her since the rule says 18 and above and that was why he continued chatting with her, especially as it was just word of mouth and no real age evidence was shown.

I am just saying, I don't know though. Lawyers would know better, over to you.

The laws do not take into account that she may have lied and sign up on the app. Always understand that the law is made to protect minors. They are vulnerable, inexperienced and can be stupid.
If a minor approached you and stated she was 18 when you can clearly see that she was a minor, will you take advantage of her because she lied about her age?
Some of these apps allow you to have an account with consent of your parent/guardian. We can't go into the specifics of this case since we don't have the full details.
In this case, the guy cannot be excused because she stated that she was a minor, he should have fled.
Now, if she had stated an adult age, the guy could still be charged depending on the chats. He's an adult and adults should be responsible.

Answer my question, did the women sexually exploit underaged boys?
