The Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical is set to begin fuel exports to South Africa, Angola, and Namibia, Saturday PUNCH can confirm.

A highly credible source, who confirmed this exclusively to one of our correspondents on Friday, said the management of the 650,000-barrel per-day capacity refinery was at advanced stages of talks with the countries to start lifting fuel.

Our correspondents gathered that four other African countries – Niger Republic, Chad, Burkina Faso and Central Africa Republic – had also started negotiation with the refinery.

Saturday PUNCH was reliably informed that more countries were being expected to signify interest in lifting fuel from the refinery in the coming months.

Ghana was recently reported to have expressed interest in buying petrol from the $20bn Lekki-based refinery.

Very soon, when all eyes become clear... Dangote will refuse selling to Nigeria since NNPC prefers imported fuel.

Some people don't even understand what is happening in Dangote fuel issue.

NNPC sold crude oil to Dangote at the international market price rate, the only difference is that it was sold at Naira equivalent instead of dollar.

Dangote will not sell at the rate lower than the international rate he bought the crude oil from NNPC.

The cabal and NNPC are the one frustrating this deal simply because no sane country will buy the substandard fuel produced at their refinery abroad.

The refinery business in Malta, Venezuela, Malaysian will go out of business soon so they need to fight hard to remain in business at the detriment of Nigerians

A prophet is without honour in his house.
Other private investors should also build refineries in Nigeria.
We need at least two refineries in each geopolitical zones.
Once there is competition, the cost of fuel will drop.
NNPC has no business running a refinery.
