From the above thread, FG is claiming reforms are ongoing and that they will yield positive outcomes for the populace in the long run. Sounds like a classical time-buying move of politicians to allow them do as they please.

What are the reforms? I like to see them itemized and linked to positive outcomes logically through anticipated effects of each reforms. Help a brother out Nairalanders.

Ambiguous as ever. How will higher cost of doing business in the face of deteriorating business climate and security lead to the last sentence about economic growth, investment and job creation?

The three arms of government are just enriching themselves and living luxury lifestyle by robbing monies meant to relive the masses of some pressure via subsidy on the naira and essential commodity/service

I like tinubu for one small thing. Thats for his honesty about not trying to diversify the economy in any way unlike Buhari who mouthed it repeatedly but ended up going for imaginary crude reserves in phantom basins.
At least we know Tinubu is only planning to do more aggressively what has failed us thus far. Those are their reforms.

2. Floating the naira so that government will have more money to invest.

In these two reforms I identified, the government is clearly pushing its burdens to the masses so it can have more money to invest in other areas.

The problems here are many: Tinubu is not known to run a transparent government, so nobody knows how much he has saved so far and what the money will be used for.

If we had an honest man implementing these reforms, he would tell us how much he has saved so far and how much has been reinvested in other areas. But you cannot give what you don't have because they are probably looting the money to make up for what was spent during the 2023 presidential elections.

We still pay over ₦300 subsidies for each litre its impossible to sale petrol at ₦1050 without subsidies impossible... Check prices in other countries without subsidies

In fact if nigeria have a way to import and sale petrol at ₦1050 Without subsidies we would not need crude again... We should just import n resale

what exactly are the other areas that government needs the money for?? Is it not the same health, education, food to survive that pple can no longer afford, and economy and is fast deteriorating, with no tax to collect ??
See u are being deceived with propaganda of reforms... Subsidy exist in every nation that truly care for its pple....it's one of the major ways the common wealth of a nation reaches everyone...
It's exist in health sector and education in most caring nations ..even small countries subsidize wheat, cotton and many essential services... But ur president is spreading lies that removing all forms of subsidy will make him do more.....lets assume the UK said they want to remove subsidy on health and education in oder to do more....what more sir.?? health & education is one of the greatest need of the pple.....I ask u again sir....what is the more that the Nigerian government will do for removing the backing in the currency, subsidy on fuel, electricity, education, etc ??

Incase u dnt know..our revenue is meant us ....but since this government resumed...the revenue is meant for them alone...The truth they don't want yall to focus on is that Everyone will gain from backing the currency but only only pple gaining from floating is the three arms of the government

the masses doesn't have to pay this heavily while the three arms of government are living fat....all money for subsidy is just going to their pocket...the masses enjoy nothing from the common wealth of Nigeria

Again..go to the UK...the citizens are always thankful for that one thing among many weda its cancer u have or u want to transplant ur head... ...it's free of charge...education is also free ......., those born in scotland dont pay for any eduction even to university level..... if our govt still pay over N300 per litre in subsidy and marketers are buying petol lower than Dangote petrol price, petrol should be around N500 a litre

There are 'reforms', but they are not in the interest of the masses.

The so called reforms are tactics to corner more wealth to a few.

Benin, Cameroon... Why don't he just move it there and sale

Landing cost of petrol is ₦1200 roughly... Distribution, and the rest add ₦150 plus ₦50 profit for filling station minimum we can get petrol without subsidy is ₦1400

thats cos the marketters there need to profit. Thats indicative of average profit level.
