I may be bad at Music, but what are the specific criteria used to decide what is the best African Music by this American/European organisation?

Why is it described as the greatest Music award when the criteria are American/English/Euro-centric?

I love music, yes, and appreciate the acknowledgement that African Music is beginning to get in the global space, but I am not sure we come to the table as equals, if we aren't speaking English on the music or producing music in a language largely understood by the West, we may not get a look-in for a Grammy.

I stand to be corrected.
