What HMO would you recommend for a family person who previously used an HMO under a company’s umbrella but has stopped working?
I am not into insurance.
I personally use reliance which might be expensive.
my i did a cover for my uncles family recently, I don't know much it cost in total but PA who handled it said its one of the cheapest, I mean mycovergenius... I think it's about 3k per person and it cover maternity, up to about 20 different surgeries, pharmacy worth about a 100k etc.
You can check them out and get a quote. It was Flexi my PA said she did can't remember exactly how much....
But personally Reliance is best, more expensive tho

It's quite unfortunate. Nigeria is no longer affordable.

This is so annoying and unbelievable that many Nigerians don't know about insurance.
There are HMOs as low as 5k monthly, Lagos State has one Ilera Eko for 12k thereabouts for a whole year.
Lots of enlightenment is needed!
Even the FG NHIS which is as good as free, Nigerians don't use it.
I don't understand us in Nigeria

I don't understand this ratio.

83% of my income on food, 48% of same income on transportation, 38% of still same income on Bills and Utilities, yet again clothing is taking 35% of same income and the rest.

Shouldn't the total percentage be 100? I'm not understanding this analysis.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Unless the extra percentages will come from illegal kickbacks different from normal income
Re: Top 10 Things Nigerians Spend Their Money On Amid Hardship by Love800(m): 1:38pm On Nov 10, 2024
What is HMO?
Exousiang01:
Private HMOs go for as low as even 2k per person for a month. a family of 4 will be 8k a month. For me it does not even have to company HMO every responsible man should have a health insurance cover. It's cheaper. What happens when his child falls ill in the middle of the month when all the money he has left is for transport to and fro work?
People need to be made to understand these things, they don't know that HMO is cheaper that walking into the hospital and paying bills...
some 2k HMO even cover surgeries, depends on the provider
Re: Top 10 Things Nigerians Spend Their Money On Amid Hardship by Love800(m): 1:39pm On Nov 10, 2024
Abeg wetin be HMO?
TJOS:
I hope your message reaches many people. Most individuals are not well-informed about this situation, and given the current times, many are focused on survival. Suggesting that someone struggling to find food should invest in HMOs is a misplaced priority; they will tell you that hunger is their greatest concern.
Re: Top 10 Things Nigerians Spend Their Money On Amid Hardship by maasoap(m): 1:44pm On Nov 10, 2024
TJOS:
I disagree.

Internet connection should be considered the number one utility and should stand as a separate bill from other utility expenses. Even during challenging times, people rely on social media to stay connected. Additionally, job seekers are increasingly active online in their job searches.
What are you disagreeing with here? It wasn't put among the items. It could be number 3 or 10 if it was put among the items but it wasn't listed

That's true, but the percentage for each sector of expenditure varies for each and everyone of us. Also, not everybody spends money on each area of expenditure.

#7 is low because hospital bills are expensive.

People prefer to die under the false promises of pastors than spend money on hospitalization.

Very sad.

We now have a situation where a large percentage of our salaries is used for feeding. Imagine working just to feed yourself with little money to save. Terrible.

A 9 inch block is sold for 1100 in my area. How can the next generation build houses?
