Tellmeastory:All these retired chiefs and old politicians that wants to be forming patriotic citizens. Someone who has been feeding on government money since time immemorial. His father was a deputy governor and he enjoyed the same largesse all along. Many years when he grew up, he himself got appointed as minister and other appointments and still enjoyed the largesse only to turn around and become a patriotic. In fact who changed his portfolio from the minister of Gaza affairs to nigger under secretary to the UK on kemi's matter. |

Kemi Badenoch's political journey has been marked by a blend of strategic maneuvering and controversial rhetoric, particularly concerning her Nigerian heritage and the socio-political landscape of Nigeria. Her approach has sparked significant debate and criticism, both in the UK and Nigeria. Sympathy and Self-Denigration as Manipulative Tools Badenoch has often been accused of using sympathy and self-denigration to manipulate her audience. This tactic involves presenting herself as a victim or underdog, garnering sympathy and support. By highlighting her struggles and challenges, she creates a narrative that resonates with many, especially those who have faced similar adversities. Self-Denigration and Its Impact Self-denigration, or the act of belittling oneself, can be a powerful tool in political rhetoric. Badenoch has been known to make self-deprecating remarks about her Nigerian background, which some critics argue is a calculated move to gain favor with her predominantly white audience in the UK. This strategy can be seen as a way to disarm her critics and present herself as relatable and humble. However, this approach has not been without controversy. Critics argue that by denigrating her Nigerian heritage, Badenoch not only undermines her own identity but also perpetuates negative stereotypes about Nigeria and its people. This can have a detrimental impact on the perception of Nigerians in the UK and beyond, as it reinforces harmful biases and prejudices1 . Collateral Damage to Nigerians Badenoch's actions have been criticized for causing collateral damage to the reputation of Nigerians. By using self-denigration as a tool for personal advancement, she is seen as contributing to the negative portrayal of Nigeria and its citizens. This has led to accusations of selfishness, as her actions are perceived to be driven by personal ambition rather than a genuine desire to improve the lives of Nigerians1 Ambition and Manipulation Badenoch's ambition is evident in her rapid rise within the Conservative Party. Her ability to navigate the complex political landscape and secure a leadership position speaks to her strategic acumen. However, this ambition has also been viewed as manipulative, as she is willing to use any means necessary, including self-denigration and sympathy-seeking, to achieve her goals . Media Coverage and Public Perception The media has played a significant role in shaping public perception of Badenoch. Articles and news reports often highlight her controversial statements and actions, further fueling the debate about her tactics and motivations. For instance, her comments on the COVID-19 Partygate scandal, where she described the row as "overblown" and praised Boris Johnson as a "great prime minister," sparked backlash from bereaved families and critics who saw her remarks as insensitive and detached from reality . Conclusion Kemi Badenoch's use of sympathy and self-denigration as manipulative tools has been a contentious issue in British politics. While these tactics have helped her rise to prominence, they have also drawn criticism for their negative impact on the perception of Nigerians and their potential to perpetuate harmful stereotypes. As Badenoch continues to navigate her political career, the debate over her methods and motivations is likely to persist |

The aspersions being cast upon Kemi are malicious and ill placed. I’m always bemused on how some Nigerians are united in oppression. The elderly nincompoop FFK has writing an ignoble essay about Kemi, all because she doesn’t shy away from telling her story the way it is. All because she has chosen not to be a hypocrite, all because she has found honor where most women would spread their legs and MouthAction to attain. Some Nigerians throwing stones have lost loved ones due to debilitated healthcare system/facilities, some due to insecurity, so have lost investments due to governments policy summersault, some watched their parents struggling arduously just to put unbalanced meals on the table, yet Kemi is the cause of all Nigerians problems. For the ignorant ones, Kemi isn’t the harbinger of bad news, a former prime minister had already called us fantastically corrupt. How ignorant can we be as to think that investors wait for Nigerians to write bad narratives online before making investment decisions. I had written a post about the indices foreigners allude to beforehand, none has to do with public opinions but with statistically significant researched facts. Think on what happened to gokada, maxx, pz, Michelin, virgin Nigeria, most recently the Chinese company that seized our jets? Personally, most foreigner I’ve met say the same thing about Nigeria… it’s a very corrupt country. A Canadian who had lived in Nigeria once said to me and I quote… “you Nigerians are very proud, claim to be intelligent, yet your government opens its butt-hole and shits in your mouths and you take”… those words still hunt me. Fela - suffering and smiling, African China - lead us well, tekno - rara, all songs about the terrible state of affairs in Nigeria, years after nothing has changed. If you don’t believe change can happen in a day, please look up Rwanda, Egypt, India… For those who claim she’s lying, how does her father being a doctor and her mother a lecturer equate affluence? Isn’t the country littered with tattered physicians and lecturers? Wasn’t there an issue of how it wasn’t right for a political aide to earn more than a professor? How many times has ASUU been on strike. Kemi was born in Nigeria, but made in the UK. She would have amounted to nothing if she was in Nigeria. How many girls from humble backgrounds can dream and become the women of their dreams like Kemi? None! In the Nigeria of today. |

Stanbaba30:Femi and kemi, though their names seem to rhyme, are opposites: one is unreservedly patriotic to our dear native land of Nigeria, while the other has chosen to be fiercely anti-Nigeria. May God continue to bless our dear fatherland and decimate her detractors. |

Frigga13:That tells you that we Yorubas honour our tribe and culture, and will never support any of our sons and daughters that denigrate us, or dishonour our names by criminal acts, no matter how highly placed (plus and including Tinubu). This is unlike some set of tribes who support their clan members, no matter their evil ways, as long as they are rich, and build massive mansions in their villages, and strut around flaunting their riches. |

Took my time to read through FFK's write up, in spite of the length, and I totally agree with him on this, for the first time. Badenoch's statements are unfortunate. The country has terrible leaders, but she fell into error of hasty generalization and falsehoods. |

While I agree that Kemi's utterances have been denigrating, her words about Nigeria ring very true. Kidnappers and bandits conduct their activities unchecked, while less than 10% of the country has potable pipe-borne water provided by govt. I personally fall into the category that witnessed incessant armed robberies, had to walk miles to get water in my village back then, and saw lizards running around the dry govt taps. So, while it's easy to dismiss Kemi as a clown dancing in her political circus, we must be introspective enough to acknowledge the truths in her submissions. I rest my case. |

I think the BIAFRA war wiped sense away from your forefathers heads and you guys inherited senselessness from them. You idddiotts turn every issue or post to tribal war because of the hate that runs in your blood. KEMI BADENOCH insulted the whole Nigeria but you maggot invested brain turned it to an insult on Yorubas. You lack sense and it is not surprising. Most people from the East are like that. That's the plain truth. Now, call on the Mods on me. |
