Hi, I wouldn't really think I am coping. I'd rather say I am surviving. So let's do this again... Hello fellow survivors, how e don bi? Please this post has no regards to the incarnates who support a bad govt of any kind. I don't care whether the person is your father, uncle, tribesman or whether the person is YOU. If you have a problem with this post, DM me let's meet and fight. Back to my sapastle... On electricity and fuel generator, my solar system I bought when things were cheaper has been a life saver as though to a drowning child. These days, you don't need a timetable for food. The food times you whenever it comes without a traffic delay. On transport, the interval and way my eyes rotates between the road paths and the fuel gauge could be added to the CV as a professional security role in a security job. I was also robbed recently and I could tell you for a fact that if those robbers were ever caught, I'd be glad to apply for the hangman's role. I mean, chief you and I dey suffer, why you come rob me cart away my devices? That's you time-travelling me to six years ago. I don't even want to talk about how inconsiderate the NPF was during the police report.. Anyways, couple of days ago, I misplaced my ₦200 and I had to trek back to look for it. I convinced myself the only reason I went back was because it was a newly minted note. The hidden gem was actually because that money bi like ₦200k that moment. The currency has a special place in my heart. Since I am a freelancer, I work from home ..but shuttle to my other places of business, and trust me when I say that the leg is a gift from God. Wifey has been very supportive too.. I mean, what could I have done without her this period where even mamaput prices are for the knights and Nobel men? Or visiting Crunches and Chicken Republic ? When I no bi Arthur Pendragon! Nigeria is in an all time pain. You'll be working hard but it's like you are hardly working. And if you don't get a dollar gig where you can convert to Naira, you are left with a murmur of lamentations for yes, the Naira is valueless in Nairaland. Whenever I am closing my gate, I happen to hear a child always cry to its mother...clearly hunger. Oga, abi you no know things don hard? I mean, this child would cry until he begins to ingest the balls of catarrh coming down like waterfalls down his face like the six-lane Epe expressway. Out of pity at a point, I shared my last card, giving the sum directly to the boy, of course in the presence of his fam. I forgot sth at home and when I returned, they had cooked jollof rice. The aroma was so nice that if not for home training, I could have been beseeching them for a fetch. 😋😋 The next day, the small boy now comes around the gate to wait and I try to roger with whatever I got...but had to make long stops later because I was naw becoming afraid to visit my gate again if I had nothing to offer. Small chief, no bi so naw. Na so you dey do? Why you dey threaten me? And those saying Buhari's era was better. Don't angry me! Buhari's era was hard! Tinubu's era is harder! There's no betterment being ruled by misery! The Air Conditioners in my house are basically for aesthetic designs these days. My DSTv may be filled with webs, who knows? I buy shared logins for Netflix and other subs I need. My 365 Personal I bought last year is still active. Thank Almighty I had paid fully for the Windows Activation and bought all tools last year on annual subscription. What I fear is its expiration. A bag of rice I bought days ago was ₦100k, and I am also using it as a gym equipment. I can't pay ₦100k and tolerate its idleness. Since I also sell shoes, I have also acquired newer skills on maintaining one slippers for longer periods. It's a Corolla, baby. So don't be surprised to see me in the park as your special bolt driver to anywhere in Nigeria. Just you, air condition, and your money you will give you me for your service. Omo, wetin I wan talk? With the way agents are renting people's houses eh! How can rent be "₦600k, caution ₦100k, Tenant agreement ₦100k, agent fee ₦250k, settle me with what you have." You could have kuku bring your gun and killed me naw, pastard. |

And for those ladies always stopping for a lift on the road, do you think anyone is happy? Hanty if "I am not interested" is not a convincing response, abeg fuel is ₦1200 so dey well o. Those uncles and hanties wey dey go club, how far naw? E still full? Dem still dey pop Azul? MTN is very wicked. You do a ₦100k yearly sub they told you you can share then they stop you from sharing it, and you must imagine the pain! Drove my cousin to a jamb office. Omo, you folks need to see the way jamb officials treat these jambites! We complain about the gov but the people are worse! Finally, I minimise on occasions so you don't notice I have limited attire and shoes to wear. Last month I attended an invited wedding ceremony of a close associate and the decently dressed waitress served me an undersized amala with an overzealous ewedu, a snail with half its lips bitten off and with a beef the size of a periwinkle. Only God made me look at my neighbour's portion and he was served like a king because he knew this girl. Neighbour wey just sneak from back enter seat. Why naw obirin? Hanty you no bi God na chef you bi! Also, I don't quarrel or fight with anyone but I am opened if you want to quarrel or wrestle with me. I will hypervent, and you'll get infuriated then I will just faint close to you. It will establish two facts: the crowd won't let you leave until I wake up. I will not wake up until a bottle of malt and Market Square's meatpie is bought. If you like buy puff puff and pour water, na you go wait tire. I go lie for you? I have also realized that turning off the AC and winding down is bliss. Natural breeze is serene and good for the skin. If I am going to an occasion, I can buy a bottle of Aquafina and when I am done with its content, I'll buy sachet water and pour inside. Don't buy three bottles and litter the country. Learn from me: recycling is one of the UN's SDG initiative. The beauty of having needle and thread in the house can never be disregarded. Those peeping holes in the polo you've worn about 53 times can finally be unwindowed. Sweat on the skin tastes more bitter than it used to 10 years ago. I am tired for now. Thank you T-Pain, our dearest fallen angel. To God be the glory. Make I go retrieve my garri wey I freeze to last longer. Breakfast don set. 🫶 |

Nice read We'll survive Nigerians are known for resilience Don't be ashamed to cry for help when genuinely needed And don't feel too big to render help where genuinely required This is the time to be your brother's keeper and also have a keeper for a brother This too shall pass |

It's not easy atal atal and if anyone says it is just know say na setup.... When Buhari started destroying the economy back in 2016, the paid bots said he was washing and cleaning and in no time everything will be fine but after 8yrs it became worse. BAT began to Bury the already dead economy since May 29 last year and they said he is on the right track. I don't understand how fixing the economy translates to killing the citizens with hunger and suffering ![]() |

chatinent:I really like your narrative about the things Nigerians are going through from your personal experiences. The only problem I have with it is the bolded. Something can't be harder than another without the other being easier. Buhari's regime was certainly bad but more tolerable |

Even me sef e dey do me wan kind to sell ordinary rice for 7500 per paint but what to do na ladder climbing things we dey now, as e dey go up you gats climb the ladder before you go pack up ooo😁. One advise I give people is to diversify their income in various streams bcus na mumu dey depend on one source under dis Tinubulation period oo. People must eat. Go into foodstuff business even though start up go hard now due to the massive cluelessness of T-pain wey don scatter everywhere. People must wear clothes, go into wears business. |
