Ivanka Trump's election night outfit sparks wild fan theories about how she really feels

When Donald Trump triumphantly took the stage on Tuesday night to declare victory in the presidential race, his daughter Ivanka drew eyeballs with her choice of outfit.

Ivanka, 43, decided to wear a royal blue velvet pantsuit to the historic moment, leading some critics to speculate that she was showing subtle support for Democrats as the Republican party color is red.

A former advisor to Trump's first presidential term, Ivanka was notably absent from her father's campaigning this year and refused to attend a single rally until election night.

Ivanka's blue suit on election night saw some claim it was her way of hinting she would have preferred a Kamala Harris victory over her father, with observers questioning: 'Of all the colors... why blue?'

Ivanka stood by her husband, investor and former Trump administration official Jared Kushner, on the stage on election night, while much of her family were placed on the other side of the platform.

Critics noted that, along with Ivanka's blue suit, this may have been the First Daughter's way of showing her distaste for her family's politics.

'Why is Ivanka Trump wearing a Democrat shade of blue? And she's standing well away from Trump and the rest of the family...' one observer said on social media.

'Wasn't it weird Ivanka was wearing a blue suit? Of all the colors... why blue?' another questioned.

Liberal lifestyle and women's news outlet The List also waded into the debate, branding Ivanka's sartorial choices a 'rebellious, democratic blue.'

Observers also noted Ivanka's placement on the election night stage, as she stood to her father's left alongside JD Vance while the rest of the Trump family stood on the other side

Ivanka was not the only one who drew scrutiny on election day with her outfit choices, with First Lady Jill Biden also choosing to wear the other side's colours.

Biden wore a bright red pantsuit on Tuesday, knowing she would be voting and speaking to swing state voters in front of a throng of cameras all day.

Many were convinced she did so to take a parting shot at Kamala Harris, who was seen as pushing Joe Biden aside and brutally casting him out of her campaign following his disastrous debate performance in June.

Her eyebrow-raising outfit choice came after news hit the web that she and her husband, Joe, will not attend Kamala's Election Night watch party.

'As the wife of a Democrat politician there's no was she doesn't know how this looks,' one person wrote. 'Joe and Jill are pissed.'

'Jill Biden knows exactly what she did. Her outfit was on purpose,' another theorized.

Others launched the hashtag #DemocratsForTrump and suggested Jill was 'sending them a sign.'

Ivanka was a Democrat until her dad became a Republican. Her husband Jared Kushner was too and his immediate family remain prominent Democrat donors.

President-elect Trump himself was also once a member of the liberal party but permanently switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2012.
