Acidosis:POS agents get cash from business owners at a cost. The business owner will rather sell the cash to them than deposit in a bank that wouldn't pay interest based on the transaction dynamics on the account. The risk of loss of funds is eliminated as there's no cash-in-transit to the bank that may get lost or stolen on the way to the bank among others. Remember that Fintechs don't give their agents cash. The agents also visit ATMs of traditional banks and empty them with multiple cards. Banks try to make provisions for their agents but it's not enough to run their business. Let's be honest with ourselves, when last did we do a cash deposit in our accounts through traditional banks? It's easy to blame banks and not see the role we play in cash circulation. |

Emmanuel900:Banks and their staff are neck deep in the business of POS. So don’t expect any cash at any ATM soon |

| Re: What Is Happening With Nigeria Banks? by Esthered: 8:42pm On Nov 10, 2024 |
Orinechi:It's easy and convenient for the business owner than going to the bank. It's sometimes cheaper as you'll incur transportation expenses whereas the agent comes to mop up your cash without you leaving the business. |
