They prefer to sell the money to pos agents than load it in atm machine. That's why you'll see a banks atm not dispensing cash but there's a pos agents right in from of the bank with enough cash for 100 people.
When last did you see people depositing in the bank?

Hmm, my dear Esthered. So, does that mean POS agents don't get their cash from banks anymore?

POS agents get cash from business owners at a cost. The business owner will rather sell the cash to them than deposit in a bank that wouldn't pay interest based on the transaction dynamics on the account.
The risk of loss of funds is eliminated as there's no cash-in-transit to the bank that may get lost or stolen on the way to the bank among others.

Remember that Fintechs don't give their agents cash. The agents also visit ATMs of traditional banks and empty them with multiple cards.

Banks try to make provisions for their agents but it's not enough to run their business.

Let's be honest with ourselves, when last did we do a cash deposit in our accounts through traditional banks?

It's easy to blame banks and not see the role we play in cash circulation.

POS operators source for funds from filling stations, factories, shops etc.

I am not saying that there is no truth in what you said but majority of them get funds from businesses.
So u are encouraging the selling of naira notes by these business outfits to POS operators instead of taking the money to the bank?

No Nigeria Bank is reliable, the most annoying thing is cash scarcity at the ATMs. These Banks barely load cash in ATMs, Nigeria Banking sector seem like there's no regulation at all, the Bank just act and do as they wishes with no one to fight for the right of customers.

You will pay through your nose to access the money you keep in the bank.
Banks and their staff are neck deep in the business of POS. So don’t expect any cash at any ATM soon

It's easy and convenient for the business owner than going to the bank.
It's sometimes cheaper as you'll incur transportation expenses whereas the agent comes to mop up your cash without you leaving the business.
