Omo make Tinubu open border jare. Imagine 50k.

Funniest thing is that some of the rice being sold are still smuggled, they are just putting lot of markups coz of the smuggling “tax”.
price if rice in ilorin is 90k to 120k prently. Imagine buying 50k from Benin republic. Those custom and immigration are the king of smuggler themselves if we are to be truthful with ourself. Let say like from evey 20 bag of rice you want to smuggle, those guys in uniform will get 1 or 2 bag for free.

Exactly. When I see how people work very hard abroad, I often say to myself, e nor conc like this for Naija....you can go from having 2k to 2m in two weeks in Nigeria.

What a pity.

Granted that rice is smuggled everyday, but the allegation seems to be exaggerated.

I do not agree that each car can carry 65 bags of rice. If Soyombo said mini trucks, then that would be understandable. Did he make an error or he did not understand it all?

Hopefully this APC government can allow rice import once again, so that the price of rice can reduce in the markets.
Have you been to any of our land border town before? If you have, then you wouldn't be asking questions or doubting the statement. Have you heard the term "bush loading" before?

Oya, let them send the dogs to arrest the journalist for exposing them.
Is the useless journalist not mad for working against movement of Rice into Lagos? Does the vagabond not know that will force a reduction in the current price?

The head of the smuggling ring should send his boys after this vagabond and do the needful. This is an enemy of the masses

Rukevwe, you fall hand o. You fall am big time. These kinds of comments is what encourages the fraudsters and online beggars here. This same person has posted this same post (with slightly different wordings) several times on this Nairaland under one of the several thousand monikers with the same exact threat of “….I don't get help, I will sell my phone. But it will affect me a lot.”

Learn to grow “Iron mind” and ignore all these begging you see here. If you feel led to help someone in these challenging times, look within your immediate and extended family. If you are all good, go to an orphanage and help them there. These online beggars are scammers

.

At the bolded you are very ignorant. Some Toyota Avalon 1998-2002 model can carry upto 80bags so as you can see Soyombo doesn't give the accurate figure.

Back to the topic at hand, NCS is d most corrupt government revenue collection agency. It is a cesspit of human decripit. A zenith of all corruption under any government.

But PDP manage them for years.

The amount of corruption in the customs is alarming.
That's how that celebrity smuggler was exposed the last time and nothing was done .

Nigeria is beyond redemption at this point
All Nigerians are corrupt, we only strike at different times and opportunities. The CG is aware and the rice is for those that needs, it after all, all the millions for anchor borrower for farmers in the north yield no result as they sold Thier rice to niger people and claim insurgency gulped the money.

Soyombo, are you mad or what? Let the cheap rice come in for us to buy. Government should open the border and allow to come in cheap,, since our local farmers and millers are bent on punishing Nigerians with expensive rice.

FYI sir! I live in Abeokuta and everything written there is nothing but the truth. A saloon car let me say a Toyota camry orobo can carry up to that. I'm a witness, few years ago, custom were chasing a smuggler he was able to maneuver and evade arrest. He ended up in my compound, I locked the gate and hide him. I went on to look for the customs on the main road to see if they're still lurking around. When I found out they have left and not in sight went back home to meet the guy. He confess that he has 75 bags of rice stashed in the Toyota Camry orobo. Fact bro

Majority of Africans are extremely evil, greedy & incompetent.

Imagine being paid handsomely( Customs salary is very very good) to prevent smuggling but instead they take bribes to allow such actions freely.

I think majority of African niggas are sub-human & well below thinking capacity of other homo sapiens. Otherwise I see no reason 4 d obvious sabotage in several sectors in Nigeria & Africa at large

Ask questions and you would understand better what you don't know.......a Toyota Camry big daddy or 2000 model Avalon will comfortably carry 70 bags of rice each.....this is a given fact.
