nigerians no longer see smuggling as a crime, in fact, many even believed the ban on the importation of rice is totally unnecessary and uncalled for fergie001: |

onatisi:If not for smuggling, a Derica of rice should be N2,500 now; currently, a derica is 1300. Smuggling has stabilised the price ever since Naira has depreciated from 1300 to 1700 now. |

udemzyudex:Get out of here you rude fellow. If you have no manners, you may take some lessons in decorum. Others commented with decency and there you are showing off your foolishness and lack of decency. If not for your foolishness, you’d clearly understand my genuine concern that such saloon cars are not wide enough, at first impression, to carry such load. Someone up there used the word “modified” to clarify my line of thinking and that simply sorted out the doubt that I originally innocently expressed. |

Esthered:Thank you very much for this very clear explanation. The words “modified for smuggling”, cleared my doubts. Have a good evening. |

ElevationD:Lol.. Look at this clown, you think i glorify nuisance who speak confidently over what they know nothing about? You're the foolish one here bro, ask or do your own research before coming online to write about what you don't know. |

udemzyudex:Get lost you swine if you do not have clear understanding. By the way, who’s your bro? If you took off your arrogant cloak, you’d clearly have understood from my first comment, that I was innocently and genuinely expressing a doubt about the capacity of saloon cars to carry out such tasks and it was not a finality. I do not need to learn from your likes, as you have absolutely nothing to offer. That said, you may just once again get lost with your nasty ways! |

To be passed off as bumper rice harvest and used to pad APC agric performance. On another side, aggressive middlemen have started buying actual local rice. A bag of paddy rice dropped to N22k but quickly took off on another inflationary journey. The govt is too docile and busy arranging how to secure another four years. |

i quite agree with you, before we can even say we want to ban the importation of something, we should have enough local supply to satisfy the demands of Nigerians Elliotwaveforec: |

ElevationD:I think he made mistakes in his numbers. Assuming a bag is 100kg, and he said they are bringing in 130,000kg or rice. It means they are bringing in 1,300 bags of rice. If also there is hard fact that they are using 2,000 cars, it means that the number of cars is more than the number of bags of rice. If each bag is 50kg, then it translates to 2,600 bags of rice. Again, 2,000 cars seems a little too much for each car will transport 0ne and a quater bag. So, I strongly feel his numbers are not. But I don't blame him, he must not get the numbers right. It may be very true that the criminals are set to smuggle rice tonight, it may even be much more than he quoted. |

Shame on Fisayo for saying this out , people are hungry , the government are doing nothing to cushion the effect of his policies and all he sees is to say custom are doing this , they are doing that ... As the price of the rice are fair within Owode,Atan and some other places nearer is because of the little ones this guys are bringing in .. customs collect bookings from them .. this is what I know very well , being with them in the past and some of the custom officers do pity Nigerians most time and let you go even they knew you have rice in your car or bus ... If the government mean well for his citizens, he ought to have open that border even for short period of time ... They will keep bringing it and nothing will stop them till thy kingdom come .. like him talking is not corrupt...no rice is coming in tonight lobatan .. I came back not long and none of them is on the road by now.. over 6k for a rubber paint , 6k wey we dey use dey buy 1bag for igolo or bebe before .. |

LegendHero:Rice is not cheap in Benin, there is now a high import levy on Rice coming into Nigerian ports, so the rice is shipped into Benin ports and smuggled into Nigeria. That was the reason Buhari closed the border for 3 years. |

The real thieves are there being worshipped and celebrated and someone is here exposing a daring man doing his business. Yorubas and their holier than thou attitude sha! |
