Nigerian Lady Denied US Visa, Nigerians Demand Refund Policy. by ObaKlaz(op): 7:29am On Nov 11, 2024
A recent incident involving a Nigerian lady who was reportedly denied a U.S. visa after investing millions in the application and processing fees has ignited a social media storm.

The incident has seen Nigerians call for a refund policy for unsuccessful visa applicants, noting the huge amount of money usually invested only for the application to be rejected.

The lady, who had spent both significant financial resources and time preparing for her visa interview, expressed her disappointment in a series of statements following the denial.

“I feel sad. I could have used my money to buy a car. I’m depressed,” she shared, while noting her determination to try again: “I’ll go to that Yankee.”

Recounting her experience, she explained that over 80 other applicants were denied their visas in her presence.

Of the roughly 300 people who attended the interview session, she estimated that only five would likely receive approval.

The story resonated with many Nigerians on social media, who shared their own experiences of visa rejection and supported the call for a refund or compensation system.

One user, @81_flacos, commented, “Even if they won’t refund, at least a compensation of any kind would go a long way. Cos you know how much you’ll spend? At the end, you get denied, and then it feels like a wasted investment.”

Similarly, @Reggy1960 emphasized the impact of the high denial rates, writing, “Nigerian lady cries out after her US VISA got denied after spending millions of naira. This is the story of many Nigerians every year; there should be a refund policy.”

Another user, @MayJaYBaE, expressed frustration with the process, calling it a “scam,” and argued that visa applications were being used to exploit applicants from Africa and other developing regions.

Adding to the debate, @Slevin767025080 recounted his own tense experience at the U.S. embassy in Abuja, where he witnessed numerous applicants denied in rapid succession. “These people were denying folks in under 30 seconds. See Nigerians crying, explaining, and begging. Me I sha got mine, no real questions asked. But that day, I felt sorry for myself being Nigerian. These guys no rate us.”

The incident has spurred wider discussions on social media, with Nigerians urging for reforms and financial protections to cushion the financial impact of unsuccessful applications.

Nigerians are the cause. They will sell their properties like family land, houses, cars,or even take loans in other to travel abroad. When their visa application is granted, they will overstayed their visa or remain in their host country and be hiding from immigration.
Some of them go into crime.See ehn,Nigeria don cast that is why 2/3 of visa application is deny.
Most European countries are now introducing stringent measures to prevent African immigrants from coming into their country like the student visa.Nigeria don cast no be their fault

Re: Nigerian Lady Denied US Visa, Nigerians Demand Refund Policy. by otipoju(m):
To be honest, most people do not know how to answer visa interview questions properly...because many did not fill the forms themselves and used agents.

Nevertheless, the rate of denials is alarming. I had one of my boys denied a student visa in spite of him receiving a full tuition scholarship for a masters degree.

It will be worse in the coming years and application fees is good revenue for them...due to the desperation of many to leave.

Our leaders really did us bad with their gross mismanagement of the country. The sad thing is that the funds to build a really beautiful country is there in surplus quantities. Good roads,Connecting bridges,Recreation parks, Specialist and General hospitals, Power plants, Crude oil refineries, Universities, Stadiums, Modern cattle ranches, Manufacturing hubs and so on.

It is well.

I traveled abroad and understood that the MAIN GOAL of white man is to exploit Africans.

They know you want to japa
They best they can do is milk you out of cash

Some embassies will say wait till next week
Then they send you Visa Denial Letter

Very humiliating and disrespectful

It is the interview that gets you denied if you do not have substantial evidence to back up your claims or have proof of how you are gonna fund yourself when you get to the US.

Re: Nigerian Lady Denied US Visa, Nigerians Demand Refund Policy. by RandomFellow: 8:55am On Nov 11, 2024
Discounts on subsequent (or future) applications could also be referred to as refunds; but are return policies done anywhere? Are there any countries that refund?

Is it clearly stated in the terms and conditions that there will be no refunds?

I have never applied for any visas before, I don't even know how the application process goes.

Can anything be done to at least reduce the burden on applicants? Even if it means to do so with a clause.

Forget story, you can't enter US with a virgin passport.🙄🙄

Try going to other countries and returning within 3 weeks, if you try US first, there's zero chance they will allow you except he is your spouse or family relation, talking from experience.
