Am mesmerized how this people have mind to steal from high tension transmission lines. Some people are just from another world and only someone with high electrical skills would have taught them this act. I wish this perpetrators are caught and meant to face the wrath of the law.

I think the terrorists have realized killing people no longer move people, so that have decided to target what we care about

It's now a trend.

We really have a long way to go.

I was passing through Airport junction to galadimawa in Abuja. Allmost 40% of the solar street lights had been vandalized. The poles were just sawn of and carried away.

Now this is worrying, the national grid operates at 330KV, to put it in perspective, the three wires entering most transformers are 11KV, even that one will fry you up if you touch it so how then do people have the mind to go and vandalize 330,000V (330KV).

In electrical engineering, High Voltage is often only done by experts so for so called vandals to have the expertise to be able to successfully vandalize it leaves a lot to worry about.
Yes. You made a valid point. That's why I suspect they work in collaboration with some people in TCN. That's my candid belief.

This TCN is very useless and clueless. How many vandals have they arrested since....? How many have they killed?
You will be claiming vandalism everyday and not one of them has been arrested.
Government is corrupt.
Sharap there, they are not law enforcement angency that takes laws into their hands your country is corrupt and filled with evil people like you to know is a national security issue/bad leaders issue and not that of TCN …. So rest if you can’t differentiate both

Pure sabotage. An average Nigerian can't go near such place except d staff of such company saddle with d responsibility to transmission. How will u vandalized such asset with power?
Why didn't they vandalized same when u guys didn't put off supplies but immediately u put off supplies, they swing in action and vandalized same, isn't it suspicious? U people know exactly what u r doing.

The 'iron condemn' business is unregulated.
TOTALLY.
No one else has noticed the sheer volumes of scrap metals being transported to the North every day?
THEY ARE PROBABLY MAKING WEAPONS. CALL ME A CONSPIRACY THEORIST IF YOU LIKE.

Exactly! This is the third one in less than a month. How is it possible the so called vandals keep attacking the same thing over and over again. There’s a plot behind this

Everything will change immidiately Nigeria governance is decentralized. I can't imagine generating power at different parts of the nation and sending it to the centre before distribution. The north will surely suffer for this.
Thank God, states have been allowed to generate and distribute power for their use.
Next is the tax bill.

Re: Vandals Destroy Lokoja–Gwagwalada Transmission Line by DeLaRue: 10:19am On Nov 11, 2024
Calling it vandalism doesn't mean someone climbing to remove an equipment for sale.

It could also mean the vandals using improvised bombs to destroy some of the equipment.

They can also use AK47. A single shooter firing at an important equipment from a safe distance can cause a serious damage within 2 minutes.

And many of these important facilities are in remote forests far from security services. It is going to be impossible to protect all of them.

Contractors will continue to vandalise the power lines to be awarded repair contracts and we will be here blaming phantom vandals.

By the way, why won't government see power generation as a matter of national security and place it in the office of the National Security Adviser? Anyway, whenever we are serious we know what to do.

Massive hunger in the land. Tinubu must urgently do something to ameliorate this, or else his government and Nigeria will go kaput very soon.

It's pure politics. I knew from the very first public announcement about the vandalism that we were in for something, and I was right. Sit tight; we’re in for a long ride.

What do you mean by Aboki? Let me tell you, it will gradually spread—just watch and see. It’s pure politics in play. I knew from the first announcement that we were in for a long ride. Think about it: why now, after all this time? It’s clear that the old tactics of terrorism aren’t as effective anymore, so they’ve changed strategies. More contracts will be awarded for repairs, more funding for the Air Force to patrol the lines—a lot of people stand to cashout.

Simple you get the tactics. It’s pure opposition at play; they’re looking for news that makes waves and damages him further. Since the kidnappings aren’t making waves as before, people are fighting back with coordinated assistance from the current military. It’s so sad that Labgaja is dead.
