The only money management in betting/gambling is when you quit. Once you put in your money, it's either winner takes all or lose everything.
yinka206:
I don't think so,like someone said if you overdo it it becomes a curse. I play betting as well,am not playing because of getting rich quick cos am doing great in my endeavors. If I tell you that I only started with 2k and that 2k has turned to 53k as at yesterday. Just like in forex trading there is what we call money management. Mind you the 2k I started with was late last year.
So if you want to be very successful in whatever you do ,money management is the key.i learnt that aspect when I started forex trading and to God be the glory am doing very fine

Lol! This is an interesting thread.

Sport betting is a form of gambling that most people struggle to master. Of course, I would not play it in Nigeria because the owners or operators of online betting sites can easily cheat players. This is the truth. So, if you play it in Nigeria, you can expect to be destroyed eventually.

It is a different game in a well-regulated setting. Sport betting has been around for a long time in the UK, and most of our grandparents bet with UK-based companies. Those grannies you saw with red, blue, green, and other single-color sheets at bus stops back then were into it. Of course, the majority of them were losers. Why?

Our grandfathers were losers because they knew nothing about probability, logic, or reasoning. How many of them can even solve a simple algebraic equation? Gambling is a mathematical game with probabilities. And you use the pattern there to make decisions. So, you need an analytical mind to master it. How can they master it when they are always with bottles of alcohol? Lol. A skill that you need to be composed to get done. Lol.

It is exactly the same with trading. Trading forex, futures, stocks, bonds, and other financial markets is nearly identical. OK. Forex trading is bad...right? But you buy stocks of companies and call it an investment. Lol. Education is important mehn!

So, I am just smiling at everyone here saying Sport betting is a curse. If so, stocks purchasing is a curse too. Lol.

The main issue here is that forex and sports betting are so simple to get started that everyone just jumps in. However, intelligence outweighs having a Ph.D. Lol. You can imagine that if proper screening is performed, 99.999% of those involved in sports betting and forex trading in Nigeria are unqualified to do so. Period.

Qualification
1. You are prepared to master an evergreen skill that will earn you money for the rest of your life.
2. You already have a source of income that will support you for at least five years.
3. If you still live with your parents, you have mastered contentment. In fact, most children should avoid it because they struggle with contentment.
4. You are somewhat proficient in mathematics.
5. You possess a high intuitive skill.
6. You can train your analytical mind.

Trading is preferable to sport betting in Nigeria.

Duration of mastering trading
Minimum of 1 year, and can extent to 5 years. During the first stage, you are to use only a demo account after rigorous study. It should not be less than 6 months.

What next?
To see patterns, you must first process data from your chart and then interpret it. This is why mastery of trading requires analytical skills.

Backtesting is very essential
Once you have identified enough patterns, thoroughly backtest your findings. This is where probability comes in. And this is where I help most people. You need to know your win-loss ratio and then map it to the appropriate risk-reward ratio. This way, you will be able to know which trades to take and which not to. This is where most traders fail. And this is where I assist my friends (only my network... one must be careful with losers that will damage ones reputation, and not to run into trouble with the authority if tou are in a well regulated place...and this is why good traders dont take money anyhow to trade...run away from anyone soliciting for investment from every Jack and Jerry) who are presently trading. I do not teach trading because there are so many free online resources available, but I do try to show friends who trade how to backtest effectively, and so far, some have improved to become better traders.

After going through the above proces for almost a year, you will spend between $25 and $600 (an amount you can afford to lose) to open a prop firm or live account with a broker with an amount you can afford to lose after extensive backtesting. What is your assignment here? Not for profit, but to defend this account for as long as possible. I defended mine for more than a year before I began profiting. So, do you see why you need an income and months of study, practice, and review before you can master trading?

So, tell me, did our grandpas do all this? How many of today's gambling boys go through this process? Do they even have the IQ to do what I described above? Think about these things. You want to do the same thing Wall Street gurus do, and you think you can lay around with sachets of alcohol gambling at Nigerian bus stops? cheesy

If you want to learn an evergreen skill that will make you very comfortable in life, you should read this post again. It takes between one and five years to begin making a profit. Can you find a source of income first? And then, can you defend your first investment against losing it for a year or more?

Good luck to everyone.
Like seriously, you just described my experience.

For over five good years, I have been studying soccer and playing bets without a single win!

As I matter of fact, am actually developing a Tracking System for soccer and virtual games.

A system that will track matches and provide options that cannot fail for people to bet on.

And guess what? The system is pure numbers! Completely mathematical figures

The system, when completed successful, is set to rake in billions of dollars from across the world.

But to be honest with you, I'm actually trying to accomplish the impossible!

Nice one there.

I recommend that you add logic to it as well. Knowing coaches and players is logical because it allows you to learn about their strengths and weaknesses. Then use math to award points. There should be a place for reasoning, logic, and watching as many games as possible in order to master the system.

Above all, please ensure that you have a steady source of income. This is extremely important.

Best of luck, sir.

Sport betting, Crypto Trading and Forex Trading are all centred around speculations of outcomes or future trends which do not require trading on physical products. How about stock trading that's wholly speculative?

That's stupidity.
The betting centre has done SOMETHING

They have invested in your stupidity and they will always get your money.
This is how every gambling agency works. Be it SportsBet in Nigeria, or Casino in Las Vegas.

At least the Las Vegas ones, they create a serene environment with babes to make you dance and have fun and forget your money is going.

I was going to not respond to this article but just read the comments but then after reading like three pages I decided to respond.

Yesterday I checked the amount I have played on bets in the past 30 days and it showed I had staked about 23,000. I then checked how much I had made and it showed 84,000. Now if I had used 2.3m, I'd have made 8.4m. I have lost 18k, 9k, 15k and similar amounts in single bets. I have also gained 200k plus in a single day, 80k, 90k and various amounts from betting.

You see to succeed at betting, you have to be disciplined because the odds are already staked(pun intended) against you. I have principles I adhere to whenever I play and they help me limit my losses. Betting is a good way to make money. In my life, I've not seen anything in Nigeria that can legally turn a poor man into a millionaire within 90 minutes than betting.

If you can't be disciplined, if you can't stake only what you can afford to lose leave betting. If you don't have a winning/positive/cautious mindset leave betting. If you're not willing to research before you play game, leave betting. For betting is 80% research and 20% luck. If you think about, in any given match an event must happen or not happen and your goal as a punter is to find the so called event.

Thanks for the advice.
But you see, base on my findings; the soccer system beat logic. Plus no matter how you watch them play, you can't really tell what will happen all the time. I don't even watch matches. No.

What I do is to capitalize on the bookies knowledge to create and develop my data base. The data is provided by the bookies as Odds.

Attached to this reply are samples of my data base just so you have an idea of what your brother is building.

Observe carefully and you will see that there are no football teams, country or leagues in the data base. The Codes represent the teams, countries and different leagues of the world.

There are also blue and red colors. Red color is a no go area. One must not predict or bet on such match.

My system does not consider team's past wins or losses.. it doesn't consider the position of a team on the table. The only consideration of my system is a team's strength of the moment or at the moment for the match in question.

My method is entirely different and first of it's kind.

Take a look below

Sport betting is fixed and na curse...
I played over 10 games straight and only 1 keeps cutting it...

Like play 10 and 1 cut, I play 7 and 1 still cut, I played 4, 1 still cut am, I played 2, another bastard cut am... The day I knew bet na scam is the day I played Man city vs Celtic... Man city with 2 odds I tot it was free money... My brother game ended 3-3 still cut, game I played 250k...

I carried very useless games like 5 odds , 6 odds against the run of play etc... Like 6 games with over 3,000 odds... I played it with 100 to win 30 million .. my brother na 2 cut am inside 6 games...

Really you don’t think, or probably you don’t have the brain capacity to. If the teeming Nigerian youths are gainfully employed, who would play sport betting. The right question you should be asking is-

Are politicians in Nigeria a curse or blessing?

Governance in Nigeria have failed and collapsed and thereby pushing millions of people into different ways of catering for themselves.
Betting isn't because of poverty it's greed alot of gainful employed youths and rich guys across the globe plays bet
