Charles Udeogaranya, former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, has described President Bola Tinubu’s representation at the Arab-Islamic Summit as a gross violation of the Nigerian Constitution.


Vanguard reports that Udeogaranya argued that Nigeria is a secular state, asserting that Tinubu has committed an impeachable offense.

According to him, the President swore to uphold the constitution, emphasizing that Nigeria is neither an Arab nation nor an Islamic nation.


“To, therefore, unilaterally drag Nigeria into Arab and Islamic nation’s affairs is a grievous disparaging of the Nigerian people and its Constitution,” Udeogaranya said.

He further pointed out that Nigeria is predominantly a Christian nation by religion.

The former presidential candidate underscored that such blatant disrespect and disregard for Nigeria’s true position on the international stage is most regrettable.


He advised the National Assembly to caution the President to avoid such actions, emphasizing that most Nigerians are Christians and that Nigerians firmly support Israel in all international matters.

What concerns Nigeria wit Arab summit? Thought it is a secular state? Later they will be asking the country to fast and pray whil they continue to perpetuate lawlessness and impunity spurning the Nigerian constitution. What a country!

Yaradua could not attend over health grounds. Obasanjo and GEJ didn't attend because they are not Muslims but they did send high level representatives to attend .

Nigeria isn't a secular state because our constitution recognises and makes consideration for Islamic law aka Sharia complete with state funded Sharia courts and a federal operated Sharia appellant court. Justice Tanko was a Shari judge who was elevated from the Sharia Appellant court by GEJ to be a jurist of the Supreme Court until his appointment by Buhari as CJN.

The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria recognises and makes provisions for Islamic Sharia law complete with state funded Sharia courts and a Federally operated Sharia Appellant court.

The FG funded the construction of the national mosque in Abuja and continues to fund it's maintenance.
