There is nothing wrong celebrating the new Governor. He should not be allowed to come back as revenue agent again. He openly celebrated a billion naira some years ago under Oshiomole's government. Those staff of the internal revenue boards has not be doing badly, let them continue. Let our governor abolish multiple taxes that was encouraged by Obaseki's government. I don't see any wisdom by state government taxing tomatoes sellers and petty trading, tricycle and motorcycle operators. If he want high volume of tax, then he should look inward. We have abundant rubber in Edo state and Michelin and Dunlop tyres has their major rubber plantation in our state when they were still been operational in the country. It should have been a blessing in disguise but successive governors from Igbinedion to Oshiomole and Obaseki failed to either build or partner or lobby tyre world giants to invest in the state. There are abundant fruit, our land is so rich in agriculture and we also have large deposit of various minerals. Bendel brewery has been abandoned, textile mills have gone underground. Resuscitate them and see how money will flow to the state. Edo has a beautiful landscape in Ososo who has hosted the now defunct guilder ultimate search, it has always been said by tourist who visited there that he had a better terrain than obudu before transformation. How can the government even have mind to send revenue agent to collect money from petty pure water seller on the head. Wheel barrow pushers too. It just show lack of foresight.
