Obi is on his way out of the LP after Abure withdrew the earlier reserved Presidential ticket to Obi after Obi's camp tried to unseat Abure from his national position as chairman of the LP. Abure fought back after securing a court order validating his position as the Party's national chairman and declared total war on Obi and other dissidents by withdrawing the automatic ticket reserved for Obi and Otti.

This has not gone down well with Obi and he has began the process of blackmailing the LP to restore the automatic ticket to him or he will move out of the party with his band of Obidient zombies in tow.


My question is why is Obi afraid of an open contest for the LP's Presidential ticket?

Note that Obi never went through any primaries to secure the LP ticket and the reason he left the PDP in the first place was because Wike had succeeded to kill zoning the presidential ticket to any zone and also when Obi got wind that Atiku won't be announcing him as his running mate, Obi bolted out of the PDP to LP.

Obi had two cards in the PDP :

1. Contest in a zoned primary that will only involve SE candidates which Obi was hoping will result in a concession candidate selection process that for some reason he thought he will get the endorsement of PDP SE caucus. This didn't happen because Wike thwarted the whole SE Presidency thing.

2. Obi was in the hope that if the above didn't happen, Atiku would most likely emerge and pick him as his running mate. But when obi noticed that Atiku wasn't going to pick him, Obi ran to the LP.

I am of the opinion that Obi running to the LP to contest the Presidency was all in protestation to both the PDP for not zoning their ticket to the SE and to Atiku for not picking him for the third time in a row.

Now that Abure is hell bent on throwing the 2027 ticket open, Obi is now fidgeting.

How can Obi who his supporters claim he won the last elections be so afraid of participating in the primaries of his own party ?

From every indication, Obi and the LP are done. The NLC that owns LP is also done with the likes of Otti over how Abia state government treats it's workers and pensioniers.

Obi and Otti are now looking not just for another party to decamp to but one that will reserve and give them automatic tickets to contest the presidential and gubernatorial elections in 2027.

The question to ask is , why is Obi feeling he is above contesting primaries ?

Atiku has been contesting primaries since forever. Buhari did same too and Tinubu fought a hard won battle to clinch the ticket of a party he was instrumental in forming. So why does Obi think there's a political party our there which he had no hand in its formation , willing to give him automatic ticket ?

This shows a very dark side of Obi as having an entitlement mindset.

Obi is a desperate politician who can wait to build and nuture a political party. I only pity most of his brainwash Obidients. His contesting was to fulfill Igbo agenda. The likes of Chisom on Twitter rain all manner of insult on him as governor of her state for low performances but she became a die hard fan of Obi just because Pdp and Apc didn't field any igbo candidate. Some of the stupid guys like Chisom also said many negatives about Obi but today, he is their Messiah. I have never seen or witnessed this kind of high level hypocrisy in my life so far. He now have to condemned churches he ran to for cover and even try to cause a religious war in Nigeria because to be president. He want to be in good book of Northern Muslim who he so much maligned last year and resulted in him get less than 5Ok votes in many of the states in the core north. He knows he didn't win the election but need to keep his zombies so busy while he plot another move.

The name Abure will no longer be remembered once obi leaves LP and problems will start wherever he is going.there are invisible hands in all these.since the ruling party know that they are not doing well,they disorganize any formidable opposition. That's the politics been played today.
