my opinion the pastors story is anecdotal. And stories however beautiful cannot be placed on the same pedestal with scripture.

In the new Testament, whatever a man or woman gives to God is purely up to them. Giving is supposed to be with all of the heart, it can not be imposed and people should not give to meet up to some standard imposed by others.

The calling out of amounts of financial giving is also not scriptural. God gives plenty of leeway to man but he does not give man the leeway to make imposition on his fellow man in His name.

What is given is also not always money. Dorcas in the book of Acts sewed clothes, others gave time, others risked their lives. Love has many ways in which it pours itself out. Our fascination with money is entirely an African affair. It is not supported by scripture.

How many of you watched the video? the answer is i did and honestly, i see nothing wrong with what they said. If u think tithing works for u, do it and if it does not work u , dont do it,. It is as simple as A, B,C. I dont pay tithe but however, i still buy tithe by giving what i have to my parent because they are my spiritual leaders. that is why i said do what works for you. My tithing is giving generously to people around especially my parents. Urs might e be a pastor. Just do what works for u. But the most important thing is not to attack those who do it or dont do it

If you say that pastors are not pressuring anyone to pay tithe, why do pastors like the one on this thread only tell their members of good things that happen to those that pay tithe but hardly talk about the good things that also happen to those who do not pay tithe?
Is it that they believe that something is actually special about paying tithe even when the bible does not say so?
