Why so much emphasis on tithing??

Tithing is scriptural, but the way church leaders of this era are placing so much emphasis on it is worrisome. I'm a faithful tither, but the level it is being taken to makes me wonder exactly what the motive is

You misunderstand what is called tithe. Educate yourself on that first. What you described here is not tithe & is done even by atheists.

How many of you watched the video? the answer is i did and honestly, i see nothing wrong with what they said. If u think tithing works for u, do it and if it does not work u , dont do it,. It is as simple as A, B,C. I dont pay tithe but however, i still buy tithe by giving what i have to my parent because they are my spiritual leaders. IF u ask me, tithing does not mean giving to a pastor but giving dues to whom dues are meant to be given, However, a lot of us here do not even knw how to appreciate. That is where issues come in. ....... Learn to help others and not always urself. That should be the message

Bros Saturday, Sunday, Monday can be ur Sabbath it has nothing to do with tithe, the important of Sabbath day is for you to rest and remember your creator.

Deciding to tithe is fine.....nowhere does the Bible command Christians to tithe.

tithe which was never money but farm produce was meant to be eaten by poor church members:the poor,the widows and the strangers in the city and the Bible is clear on this

Oga you are lying. The isrealites had a specific day for sabbath. If you don't know that day, it means you are not Obeying the sabbath law. Nowhere does the Bible say that the sabbath day is any day that anyone chooses.

Nigerian pastors have brought this ridicule upon themselves. Many have completely lost their way, deviating from the true gospel handed down to us by Christ and the Apostles.

Know this today, there are no financial repercussions whatsoever for a non-tither. While I am not against tithing or any other freewill giving or offering, do not pay give tithe to a church with zero accountability. All funds received by your church each month must be properly documented for all members to see. I (and other members of my church) have access in hard and soft copies to our church’s financial records from the time I joined until now. This is how it ought to be.

Allowing yourself to be deceived by pastors who have commercialised the gospel may attract the same punishment as that of chronic sinners. Ignorance will never be an excuse. Stop leading your pastors to hell.

Tithes are like taxes. If you are in a place that they are spent well, it's okay to pay, else I don't see the point.

Right from start I've been shouting that getting rich has many ways and I didn't say paying of tithes will bring money into your pocket just like that. The problem with so many ppl is that they don't know the work of tithes.
Hard work brings money into your pocket even as mentioned in the book of Proverbs 24:33 that laziness brings poverty.
If you want I'll tell you what Tithes does.
