In a show of strength and solidarity, the two term Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt, Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, joined forces with Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC Governors, Senators, Honorable members, and party leaders at the Democracy Park in Akure, Ondo State. This is a clear indication of the party's commitment to delivering Ondo State to His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the APC gubernatorial candidate.

Shaibu, who is fondly known as the "Ofoneee Captain," is not alone in this strategic move. He is with his father figure, Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole. The presence of these two influential political gladiators from Edo State is a strong message to the people of Ondo State. It is surfix to say, "it is finished for PDP in Ondo, just as it is completely finished in Edo". This alliance is poised to seal the fate of the PDP in the Saturday elections.

Shaibu has consistently demonstrated his ability to navigate complex political situations like this. His impressive track record includes serving as Deputy Governor of Edo State, Member of the House of Representatives, and Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly. With his expertise and influence, Shaibu has cemented his reputation as a winner of battles.

By God's grace after the successful eight years tenure of gov Okpeboho and power shifting to our zone, I will work for his governorship ambition if he decides to contest. He has what he takes to unlock the potentials in Edo state. His tactic and commitment to sport development in our state has put Edo state in spotlight. He carries youths along and always ready to fight for them. He was nickname Mr project as house of assembly member then. A great asset and that was why all major Apc leaders across the country was able to unite with him even when he was in the other side, some years ago. He would have been a better governor than Obaseki.

Eight years time, power shift to Edo north and you think he dont stand a chance to be governor. Outside death, the only two people who can denied him to rule our state are senator Oshiomole and governor Okpeboho if they fallout with him and I don't for see it cos he will play his card well. He is loved by Apc family from national to state and local government level. He has the political network and popularity to win governorship election in future. He was a performer as house of assembly member back then cos you see his projects in his constituency. Currently he stand taller than any politicians from Edo north who will be hoping to be next governor. Age is also on his side too.

I think we should agree that Apc is 70%. PDP is 20%,while the rest is 10% in Nigeria political stat now!

Eight years is quite a long time from now. Besides, the two men you just mentioned also have the capacity to support any individual from Edo North and hand that individual the ticket to become governor of Edo state. It doesn't have to be Shaibu, and it won't be him, because he won't be trusted, judging by his antecedents.
