Useless eagle I never take them serious.
Why abusing them? It's rained cat and dog thus rendering play difficult. So, adore them for the good job.

Other countries are not selling groundnut and and corn. Africa football has grown. A lot of Africa players are playing abroad. That is the reason why AFCON is very tough now.

We started off on a good footing. Created scoring chances until osho exposed our backline. At some point, the captain of the team was literally teaching osho how to play and that made the defence line shaking. Remember, his clearance resulted in the goal we conceded

Back in the day is long gone. Bro, welcome to nowadays where your so called ordinary teams ' eyes don open' and are no longer pushovers.
Not too long ago, the likes of Madagascar and Comoros had caused upsets to big teams in the AFCON tournament

Nice one Gift Orban is a more hungrier striker than the bunch of over hyped forwards we are parading at the moment.

Where is the talent? We can't even dominate African champions league. Our best legs are outside the Country. The only issue is that some of them don't deserve a call up

These boys won silver few months ago, all of them can't be bad suddenly
Where are the talents? The talents abound in all the nook and crannies of Nigeria. I play the beautiful game myself and l do go around watching local football matches and is a part of the management of a local childhood team. trust me, there is no where in Nigeria that l have been, that l have not seen young talent (mostly under 16yrs) that always make me wonder how were are so blessed.
The problem is that our local administrators are not willing to do the "talent hunting' around the country and the foreign Coaches they employ, have no clue about what we need and how to get them.

Our best legs are outside the country?: This is not true Sir. Our best Legs are still in Nigeria but mostly undiscovered.
When they are discovered, due to the Poor economy and devaluation of our currency and the poor facilities in our country, these "best talents" are quick to move outside the country where they can earn fabulous pay. Some years ago, this same Osimehn, has the same "talent" he has now but he was as poor as a church rat. The moment he blossomed and moved out of Nigeria, he hit payday.
So, our best Talents are all waiting to move outside our country, because that is where the money is but a National team that wants to do well, must have the bulk of its members playing in its home league.

Some of them dont deserve a call-up: You are right Sir.
I will say majority of them are past their prime.
In our attack, aside from Lukmon, Osimehn, Simon Moses, and to some extent, Boniface and Chukwueze, all the rest are mediocre players who may have been good in their prime.

In our Defense, Aina is completely useless, for club and country, He is too slow, fat and lazy, He shows one side to the attacker as if he can run but then when the attacker takes off, Aina is lumbering like a trailer behind the attacker. Adinghe was just running rings round him, making us lose the Nations cup. Today again, you can see how woeful he was.
Calvin Bassey is too fat and is not different from Aina, both players are poor football intelligence, they have no reason to be in that team.

Troost-Ekong has served his best and is now sluggish and unimaginative. All his long thrust (Police Game of the 70's) are just aimless and Lukmon was having a very hard time making use of them. He just kicks up, aimless ball, to the Defenders of Benin. Waste of ball.

Our midfield is very sluggish, because the players there are getting too old, their legs are gone. The likes of Alex iwobi, Onyedika, Indidi, etc have done their best and need replacement. This is why we could not counter-attack and split defenses of opponents, we dont have the midfield magicians that can do that sort of leg-work.

We cant go far, with this sort of over-the-hill Players and the effort of the likes of Lukmon will not show, no matter how they try, with these sort of dead-woods.

In summary, we need to overhaul that team, it wont happen in One year but we can build a completely New Team, by starting at the Under-17 level of players (which are the Talents actually sourced within Nigeria!) and have a program that keeps them and graduates them into higher levels, as we also inject them with new discoveries.
those New discoveries will be found in large quantity, if we have a viable league.
To have a viable league, first thing is to provide adequate SECURITY for Fans, Match Venues, players and officials, this will encourage more people to come and watch Matches and will generate the needed funds, to run the League.

Nigeria is too big and too football-crazy and talented, not to be able to be a football World Power but the criminals running Football in Nigeria, are our problem.
Nuff Said.

This is what happens, when others are developing and we are busy looting money meant for football development.
Those days you are talking about, it was this "Group Captain" That was head of the NFA (cant remember his name now), those ones have the love of country in their heart and Clemens Westerhof was able to work with him and the Vice Head of State (under IBB) of that time, who was also a football lover.

Since we started having the likes of Pinnick at the Glass House, Nigerian Football has nose-dived and the Sepp Blatter,FIFA President who is also a crook, ensured that you cant replace such crooks. grin grin

We can do the right things or we continue to go down and cause heartache for Nigerians, the choice is ours.

And somehow you have convinced yourself that the new ones will come and do magic instead of sitting down and thinking and realizing that the national side is not the same as the club side? Do the Suoer eagles have creative skilful midfielders to create clear chances? Do we have a good coach on the level of European clubs?

Its Orban that is not doing well for his club that will come and do magic here.

Funny!

Nigeria supposed loss... Played nonsense football
So, you think the nation we're playing came to watch us beat them. Just listen to yourself!

Sometimes, we just think we should be able to beat any team! Their current coach is even our formal coach. They have the capacity to keep him

Benin is no small nation when it comes to football

SE played their best, secured a point which for me is great

My take from yesterdays game

1. We need a coach that knows what he is doing.

2. We should have lost this game by 3 goals if the other side took they chances
3. No player in the team should be blamed for our very poor performance yesterday.
4. we presently have one of the best set of player in the super eagle (since 1994 set) but getting the right coach to manage the side no way,
5. This arm chair coaches will destroy this National team with very poor tactical decisions

The only thing that gladdens me about the draw is that , at least it helped to eliminate all sorts of conspiracy theories. Otherwise, it would have been easier to say Nigeria lost because:

1. Nigeria and Benin are West African neighbours.

2. Nigeria lost because they wanted to do their former coach a favour.

3. Nigeria deliberately lost to push Libya out.

At least now, no stories.

But truth is, same would have happened if the reverse was the case.
