When willthe NNPCL revive its four refineries, despite recently spending $4 billion.
The problem I see is incompetence.. they have used quota system and nepotism to employ dullards into the Agencies responsible for transforming the Petroleum Industry in Nigeria.
We are on a long thing in this country with the self-sabotaging silence from Southerners while the unintelligent continue to hold us hostage.

Go to North, you won't still see what they are using all the stolen money for.. It's their private pockets with some buying houses and estates in Dubai.

NNPCL can't stop importation of petroleum products as there is presently no refinery operating in Nigeria in the face of the law

Dangote situating his refinery in a Free Zone means the refinery is technically in a Free Zone outside the Nigerian Customs territory.. if Dangote want, we go open book for am.
He has no legal claim or right to anything in Nigeria's Petroleum Industry and cannot quote any of the provisions contained in the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021 in the Nigerian courts.

The Petroleum marketers should better shine their eyes and protect their investments.
When we are ready to play by the rules laid down in the PiA, NNPCL will see to revival of our four major refineries, not a private business owner coming to quote Government laws as if he is the Government.
This is another perspective.. an eye opener

NASS should hold NNPC accountable for sabotaging the 4 refineries.

Those refineries will NEVER work as long as the decisions are still been made by government officials.

Government has no business running a business. They should privatize them.

The NNPC should be dismantled, for still Importing, when there is no need for it!
Why should you be importing,by creating artificial circumstances, fake Imports Bills and Naira Exchange Manipulations, for themselves and the govt Officials!
Terribly Sad!

I'm even shocked the Dangote has mouth to talk.. someone that is not paying tax to the Government of Nigeria is taking oil marketers doing business legally and paying tax to court.
It's only in Nigeria that such can happen.

Despite reaping Nigerians off their hard earned money, Dangote won't still pay tax to Nigerian government because he is in a Free Zone... Ideally all petroleum products from Dangote refinery entering the Nigerian Customs territory ought to carry import duty and levy because it's like we are importing the Dangote products. He is not supposed to enjoy free market in Nigeria. This is part of the nonsense undue advantage to Northern business owners that we've been pointing out.

He is condemning oil imports when his own petroleum products are also being imported to Nigeria according to extant laws establishing Free Zones

The refineries can work if there is political will to revive them.. I won't support privatization of the refineries because it's the exact same thing that happened in the power sector where corruption thrives that will still happen.

You need to watch out for likes of Dangote who will do everything to sabotage the reactivation of our refineries so Nigerians can depend on his private-owned refinery. If you know the money NNPCL and CBN pumped into Dangote refinery project, you'll weep.

Dangote is owing Nigeria a whole lot of money despite all the noise he is making . He cleverly went to build refinery in Free Zone to evade taxes (that'll run into billions) and fines from regulators in the Petroleum Industry but wants to enjoy all the privileges of business owners paying taxes and complying with laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. How else do you define a criminal?
Re: NNPCL Denies Stopping Fuel Imports by sunnyprof: 2:00pm On Nov 15, 2024
why this denial? The GMD was rightly quoted (and you acknowledged that)

Next, you now 'dis-interpreted' what was not 'mis-interpreted!!

NNPC sha!!

Why are you people bent on importing fuel? We have been informed severally that 0Dangote is not the only producer in the Country ..... so we have other sources for petroleum products within Country.
We imported because we could not produce, now there is production and you people are busy trying to discredit the fact that this is the least we need to get things right.

I think NNPC has just done us disservice by her corporate communication office. I believe the GMD said the right thing to make us happy that they are not importing anymore (unless there is need though, this we understand), moreover NNPC is also to take advantage of her investment in the Refinery too ..... which is encouraging.

Th PHRC, WRPC Rehabilitation should also be finished before end of this year to meet up further requirement, while KDRC and other Private once be fully pursued to completely knock out importation of petroleum products ..... we too much potentials and we have the market for the products in Nigeria ..... energy security is important.

And I still wonder too, how imported fuel can be said to be cheaper than the locally produced, especially now that exchange rate is high? it is sheer manipulation or an offshoot corruption ..... Nigeria's main factor of destruction!!

Can't NNPCL produce and market petroleum products from their many Refineries (Port Harcourt, Warri, Kaduna) and stop depending on other individual refineries? Can't they make their Refineries work?
Re: NNPCL Denies Stopping Fuel Imports by Vision101(m): 9:32pm On Nov 15, 2024
They are no longer telling us when their refineries will start producing.
