slimfit1:Your thinking is myopic.... No country welcome illegal immigrants especially those not adding anything to them. Trust me, they won't deport professionals, but miscreants. |

MrEverest:Stop cursing and cursing all the time. Majority of the malams you see in southern Nigeria are from Niger and Chad. A lot of them are in the northern part. If we start now it will another Ghana-must-go case. Their northern brothers will even kick against it. |

In 1982 after my one-year national service in Sokoto and while working with the consultants that supervised the Goronyo Dam project, Niger Republic was a stone's throw to visit. The relative comfort in Nigeria as compared with the Niger Republic was outstanding. On those good days, N1,000 would fetch 472,563.34 CFA francs, but today, it is a mere 372.53 CFA francs for N1,000. The people of Niger Republic were all over Nigeria as guards and street beggars but currently, the reverse is the case. Nigerians now find the desert Niger Republic a better comfort zone than Nigeria. Kudos to the successive impunity of corruption in the Nigerian leadership! The country is comatose and needs urgent resurrection through the surgical operation of transformational and inclusive leadership rooted on the tripod of justice, fairness, and equity. Until the so-called untouchables, the past and present corrupt leaders who have impoverished Nigerians, are made public examples through retributive justice to serve as deterrence to others, Nigeria cannot make any progress. I am, however, positive that God will raise foresighted and selfless leaders to reconstruct the country to the envy of the whole world. YES, HE WILL in Christ Jesus' name! |
