The snake is not a viper but a Colubrid snake.
Vipers are stout bodied by nature, with variegated patterning on them and a triangle shaped head.
Their tails are quite short.

Not true!
Cobras have heads streamlined with body and they are extremely venomous.
Likewise coral snakes, taipans,mambas,tiger snakes,brown snakes.
Most Colubrid snakes have heads bigger than their bodies and are non venomous.
Colubrids are 99.9 % non venomous.
