I have said this over and over again and I will repeat myself this morning. No IMF or world bank policies will ever work for underdeveloped countries. That aside, the policies of fuel subsidy removal and floating of naira will only get worst as the day roll in. This is not about pessimism or not been patriotic, that's just the nature of our country because we are fuel dependent nation and also foreign goods dependent, as we produce nearly nothing. Developed nations are not stupid for subsidizing foods that they know they are commonly consumed by their citizens. Fuel is the driver of our economy, let no one deceive you. Whatever affects our fuel, affects virtually everything called goods and services. All these deceits would give any result. Those hailers of the government should continue but as the saying always go, the ends justify the means. Already there is a projection that more people will be dipped into poverty by 2025 by FOI. Without the investigation, even the blind knows we are heading towards doom days ahead. My candid advise to the patriotic ones, tighten up your seatbelt and do all legal thing that you think can fetch you money. |

IMF always spot on. They called it out in March 2024 that Naira was nit floated but devalued. That is ehy they have refused to give the Tinubu government loans While some buffons were busy shouting "naira was floated" echoing the rubbish propaganda from the clueless administration, IMF called it out as systemic devaluation of naira. Now theyvare calling it out noe that the reforms are being poorly implemented. |

Without IMF's report, we all know that the reforms are ineffective and pointless. Unfortunately, the Government lacks capacity to believe that and reverse the inhumane policies for the goodness of her citizens. |

How would it work!? 1.) make naira legal tender for export, let the people buying from Nigeria buy with the naira. 2.) let Nigeria become an export based economy, open the borders and let people buy things from Nigeria with the naira (this would make the naira strong) 3.) confer security to Nigerian citizens and Nigerian businesses. Arm the soldiers with more firepower and proper military training. 4.) Create schemes to alleviate poverty in Nigeria and create businesses at least for the first 4 years (don't pay the money to their account at first, build the business for them let the profits come to them, and ensure it is properly monitored, and when time for profit and ROI comes, they start paying ROI), then next 4 years impose taxations. 5.) promote made in Nigeria businesses correctly and ensure there is innovation etc. This is what would make the naira stronger and a better economy. Agbadorians and ronuz and anus them no go see this one , because according to them , I'm an ibo man and my talks hold no water. Them go even insult person ontop. Lost people. |

Caseless:I love your last paragraph. Truly we are on hell on earth for some months now. No good you can pinpoint that has not skyrocketed, some doubled, some tripled and even some out of the reach. My grouse against Tinubu is that he is so adamant and doesn't know that policy can fail and as a good leader, you must courageous to admit that your policy has failed and work out modality to reshape the policy. My concern is they are using their arrogance to destroy our economy and sending many to early grave. I said something since last year and I have been repeating same everytime. Buhari is more wiser than Tinubu. Buhari knew the impact of subsidy removal would cause and he stylishly pushed it till the end of his tenure. I bet it Buhari would not have removed subsidy if he still has more year for him. He pushed the burden on Tinubu and Tinubu took it hook line and sinker sheepishly. |

It is only hypocrites that will say the reforms in Nigeria are working. If they are working, why are people calling for prayers? Government needs to do things sincerely and reasonably. Government needs to be prudent and stop profligate spendings. Above all, government must lead by example (must practise what they preach). |

AntiChristian:That is their way. They are always very quick at carrying bad news about Nigeria. They said the reform is not working but Tinubu managed to pay $7billion FX backlog inherited, the reform is not working but foreign reserve is now over $40billion, the reform is not working but only about 28% of 2025budget would be financed thru borrowing rather than over 50% in Buhari's 2023 budget, the reform is not working debt to revenue ratio has reduced from 97% to 65% ,the reform is not working about 69 different loans are being repaid. Though, the reform has come with so much pain than earlier envisaged but many things are being corrected. |

Sheuns:Na, it's not going to get better. Not like this. The only reform Nigeria needs is the reform of the mind. The way people think back home is pathetic, callous and inhuman. From citizens to politicians. From pastors and imams to government officials. The average Nigerian just want to exploit and is self centered, damnin the consequences and that has lingered for long, it's a norm now. To get rid of norm, heads go roll o. |
