The great Benin empire dominating. 4 out of 10 on the list, historically, trace their origin to Benin.
Oba of Benin
Oba of Lagos
Dein of Agbor
Olu of Warri.
Infact, they are even 6/10 if the Yorubas will agree with Benin that their founder, Oduduwa, was a Benin prince. Oronminya, that fathered the first Oba of Benin was a grandson of a Benin prince Ekalendekhan, that changes his name to Oduduwa. The same oronminya founded Oyo empire. Therefore,
Ooni of Ife and
Alafin of Oyo
are also related to Benin .
