All of them are useless to the country. What innovative and technology role do they play? Go to developed countries, small boys are busy creating GMO mosquitoes. And we are here celebrating obsolete and outdated kings. Sad! |

Why ate you embarrassing Yoruba? WTF! Why would you include Oba of Lagos? And why would you put Alaafin and Ooni in those numbers? I will agree if only those two mention can be in 1, 2 or 1, 3 or 2, 3. |

| Re: First Class Kings In Nigeria by Aprocco: 2:52pm On Nov 16, 2024 |
goslowgoslow:Alaafin is above all kings in the West and Majority of kingdoms in the South all the way to Cotonou. Having colonized and ruled over them in the Oyo empire where he imposed his dialect upon the territory ( the Yoruba spoken across the entire Southwest is Oyo dialect), imposed taxes, Yoruba Bible is written in Oyo. Alaafin was the government pre- colonial era. |

Richtaiwo:There was no particular order there. A first class King is a first class King, irrespective of tribe and religion. The Ooni of Ife is a first class in his domain and respected by his people just like the others, who are equally respected and dignified by his people. When they meet at the national level, they all sit in the chairs allocated to them by those in charge. The Ooni cannot seat in a better chair than the Alaafin of Oyo or the Obi of Onitsha. They are equally treated. The Attah of Igalla is a very well respected first class king, just like the rest. In addition there are also HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, EZE OZUOWUOWU LEVI AMOS ORLU ORIEBE, JP, as NYE NWE ALI AKPOR, occupant of a 1st Class Traditional Chieftaincy Stool in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State with effect from 14th January, 2022. HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, SIR OHNA SERGEANT CHIDI AWUSE, as NNE-NWE-ELI EMOHUA XIII (OLO IV), occupant of a 1st Class Traditional Chieftaincy Stool in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State with effect from 29th January, 2022. The name of the Obong of Calabar was omitted. |

tunjijones:Every local government in Nigeria has, at least first class king, it's perogative of Gov of a state to give first class, 2nd or 3rd grade king. Those kings you mentioned are most popular and not only first class kings in Nigeria. |
| Re: First Class Kings In Nigeria by zealousayo(m): 2:56pm On Nov 16, 2024 |
Aprocco:There are many kings in Yorubaland that are ahead of Olubadan e.g. Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Akarigbo of Remo, Soun of Ogbomoso, Oluwo of Iwo, Ataoja of Osogbo, Timi of Ede, Osemawen of Ondo, Olugbo of Ugboland, Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, etc. Historically, Olubadan is nowhere near these Obas. |
