Modified: Haven seen his previous videos from years back on this matter of phone ringing, and also the recent one where he walked out, I don't think he is wrong. In short, I agree with him. He has been preaching about the need for discipline in the body of Christ and why we need to show reverence to God's word when we come for it. Eventhough I think the person whose phone rings should be asked to leave instead of the whole congregation paying for one person's carelessness, he said he finds it difficult to ascend in the spirit when there are phone distractions. So even if the person at fault leaves, he won't still be able to impart much on the congregation( though God can be merciful).

My conclusion is that disciplinary measures like this may appear cold and unloving but at the end they would prove effective.

I remember when I just japa and I was in a work meeting with unit head, AVP etc, that's how my phone rang out. I quickly apologized & put my phone on silent. They told me not to apologize that it could be a medical emergency that I can pick d call if it's very important next time. That's when I realised that wickedness & ego has been fashioned as rules in naija. As for that pastor, the devil in him won by preventing the people from hearing the good news

Apostle Arome Osayi stopped preaching and left the pulpit because phones rang in the church ! Is this pride or spiritual discipline? Did Jesus stop preaching despite the noise of the crowd? Would Arome have done same if he was in secular job ? Was he disrespectful to the congregation that came to church to listen to him?

Arome is a guy I respect and as a fellow comrade in the vineyard of Christ, I believe this was excessive and unfair to the congregation who came out to listen to you. I encourage you to take time to self reflect and publicly apologise to your church members ! This is very important because many younger pastors and Christians look up to you and see u as a father!

I refuse to agree with you here.The whole congregation has nothing to lose because of one person's carelessness in this case cos we serve a God who calls preachers and send them to preach by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. If such a simple act (na even gospel music be the ringtone oo, wey he still fit tap inspiration from) will disconnect oga pastor then maybe he was not truly call to the appointing na him call himself to the pulpit. Let him pack his voice, his Bible, his pride and his temperament and go home not.

Your points will be valid if you don't have negative opinion about the Church or cos Apostle Arome was a spiritual leader. If this was done by someone of other profession, you could v hauled them. That's total prejudice.
Church, Christendom have bad eggs but their positivity outshines their short comings.
