Obasanjo played a very big role in setting this dangerous trend. His desperation to dictate who was the Senate president and all that during his reign, helped to normalise that practice, and the country has never known peace ever since . He wanted to be a military dictator in agbada

Nigerians have to fight from the root

Our main problem is that INEC are not independent. Each INEC chairman works for the current president that appoints him.

Assume that a weak or simple man like Goodluck decided not to leave power, PDP would have still be in power till today.

Our votes don't decide who wins election in Nigeria except where they intentionally allows it to count.

INEC have to be independent for Nigeria to progress.

Once a leader knows that him and his party will be voted out if he fails to perform. He will sit up

@least we will only have one tenure fuckup

But someone will start misbehaving immediately he was sworn in because he knows that Nigerians can't vote him out. All he needs to do is to appoint his man, party supporter as INEC chairman, CJN and everything will be sealed.
Baba u just dey talk long story.. u know nothing will ever change our fathers tried and gave up so how will you change it

This mushroom pseudo activist, envelope collecting, attention seeking organization without any form of credential can not achieve anything. Just watch it, once they received some money, they will vanish because they are been sponsored and will be used as part of the next election.

People voted for him quite alright but it was not proven beyond reasonable doubt that he won the election without the hand of Esau.

I am a BATist. That being said, we are all Nigerians.

Several times we talk about rigging when it doesn’t favour us. When Nyezom Wike wrote 1.4 million votes for Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, even the Uniport VC who presented the report was afraid of reading the numbers out, you will all recall that that flood light was brought fir him to see well. If the man had written the numbers himself, we would not have found it difficult to read out. However when the sane Wike wrote about 300K votes for Tinubu in 2023, you all say Wike rigged. Now tell me, the 1.4 million people that voted for Goodluck Jonathan in Rivers State alone in 2015, are they all dead and remaining just about 300K ?

Tinubu lost all the big vote states, all of them,, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, even his home states Lagos and Osun. Now tell me, in which States did Tinubu rig?

Not even this. IREV should be compulsory and the data room should be have data representatives of each party as the votes fall in.
Re: Nigerians Intensify Campaign To Strip President Of Powers Over INEC, Judiciary by Omookunnimi(m): 11:51am On Nov 18, 2024
All these are just waste of time. Tell me who are not corrupt in Nigeria today? Even the advocates of this movement, give them chance to lead one agency and see how they will milk them dry.
I only support the submission of the president of Norther man up there.
If institutions are strengthen, rather than strengthen individuals, Nigeria will work.

If you know that even if you influence the appointment of employment in any government ministries, agencies and departments, you are going for it, every body would sit up.

A president that gave GCON national awards to CJN kekere ekun and also flag off the building of houses for judges and the CJN in Abuja... what did you expect..the judiciary and judges will favour Tinubu and APC during court judgements

So judges should be living under bridges or judges shock criminals with cases in their Courts to build houses for them.

Is it not the duties of the executive branch of government to provide accommodation for the judges and National Assembly members?

When Nyezom Wike was doing this same thing in Rivers State, why were you clapping for him?
Re: Nigerians Intensify Campaign To Strip President Of Powers Over INEC, Judiciary by Honestey: 12:22pm On Nov 18, 2024
The only way that can happen is if INEC boss has same power as president and he wouldn't need president approval to assume office.
Like it or not even if we succeeded in shifting president's influence from INEC and Judiciary, we only succeeded in changing the cabals because they will still have to be accountable to NASS at least. Let's just be prayerful and stop unattainable imaginations.

..that is why restructuring and constitution amendments is needed.. in which they can be a law where the NJC can be independent and financially independent in which the NJC can build this houses for the CJN and their judges and also appoint their CJN without the executive and president interference ..same thing in the state levels....the state judicial council and the state judges should be also independent and financially without the governors interference

As everyone is calling for separation of powers, everyone must also call for complete scrapping of primary election that produces useless candidates as main contenders... Imagine less than 2000 Nigerians produced the senile old corrupt and CIA spy called Tinubu for Nigerians to vote for.

Same thing, less than 2000 Nigerians produced the old kleptomaniac Atiku and less than 2000 Nigerians produced the pretentious thief and religious bigot Peter Obi as presidential candidates.

A country where so few numbers of people that can easily be compromised have such tremendous power to present corrupt and useless candidates in major parties cannot progress.

Let them pls add legislative to it.
The real problem we have in Nigeria is our legislature and there seems not to be an end insight. The day we ll get it right in Nigeria is when less emphasis is placed on monetary and financial capabilities, without that we are still noy ready yet.
