Good day my fellow Nairalanders......Hope y'all are having a nice day + flexing on the harmattan season that's already gotten it's aroma allover the place?

So, recently,I was added to my primary school WhatsApp group......It's been over 20 years since we left primary school and it was indeed a good time to have a flashback of the memories of how and who we used to be back then as kids, under the same roof of the same classroom as classmates....

The reason for the reunion came about as a result of the fact that one of our classmates was about getting married....It was indeed a fun-filled moment as we were already vibing and reminiscing on our past cheesy

Suddenly,I began to notice how some guys were showcasing and boasting about how they have made it in life.....Some were even posting pictures of their expensive cars and beautiful houses....I was really happy for them,at least for seeing those whom I grew up with making it to the top...It actually gave me joy as I hoped to make it like them someday too cheesy

But then again, what really killed my joy was when one of them started to call out the names of those who used to take from the first to third positions in class ...The annoying part was that he sent it via voice note and was like mocking us about not being successful yet like those of them who were considered as the dullards back then in school.....I felt really pissed off😡. The fun was brutally murdered instantly and I began to notice how many people started to exit the group one after the other 😔. I wasn't left out cuz I also made sure I dusted my shoes and left too before they would post the pictures of me riding my keke undecided ...what was supposed to bring us together only ended up disintegrating us further and made us felt like we were losers undecided. As a matter of fact, I've vowed never to be a member of any WhatsApp group from henceforth angry. Cuz it seems these guys are only out to add more pains to people's depression angry

Have anyone experienced this kind of scenario before?

don’t be pissed off my nikkah considering time and Chance happens to us all.

My guy, some groups are not meant to bring anyone together ooo, to avoid your mental health remove yourself from that group.

Some people have inferiority complex lack of money or having money will not wash it away.
But, guy you have to build yourself to the stage nothing in life can move you.

Build yourself to that stage, but it comes with experience. There is nothing I will see in this life that will move me. I have seen many things but the good, the bad and the ugly. We only live once, why will another person's lifestyle erode on who you are . Is not easy but man up, even if na 1kobo you have enjoy it like you have millions it will emit positive vibes in you that even people with millions will envy you.
. I swear bro grin. I so much regretted my life for joining in the first place.

its Not about whatsapp but the way individuals process information. There are lots of positivity that can be derived from the use of whatsapp or other online resource as that.
People can be who they are. Rules should be set and actions taken to deter future occurrence whats not been agreed upon making such rules.
. Honestly, the reason for creating the group wasn't achieved at all......I totally regretted why I even joined at all...

Your opinion is myopic. Don’t you know that issue like this can cause depression for those who has not made it? Everyone is not supposed to make it in life at the same time. That is why those who has made it shouldn’t make fun of those who are still struggling
Issue like that could cause depression for people like you. You keep running away cos of one person among many. If that kind of person becomes ur neighbor and say same thing, you still pack out....coward.

Let me be honest here bro

Some make it in class others make it in life, this is a fact.

If you understand the dynamics of life and the saying that clock ticks, then relax....

If i had allow my friends attitude to affect me, by now maybe i will be depending on them.

Life is a personal race and one thing i don't do is to admire what i don't have, i live within my limits and comfortable, their are those who will be in my shoe and also concluded they have made it, but i am just living well and by his grace paying all my bills...

My advise, focus and be determine dazall

the primary school is the first place where people unknowingly get their self esteem bruised, the thing about is that most do not know that they have been bruised, the childish personality allows us to easily push it into our subconsious and move on as we grow.

Forming the primary school class group only formed a reminder for many especially those were affected by certain events in primary school, hence the ego and show off.

while this is childish and immature, it is a flaw in human DNA.

truth is best friends are not formed it primary school, it is hardly when self awareness has been build.

Secondary school groups are much better and friendships are usually the best at this period hence the groups are usually easily managed (they will still be some immaturity though.)

dont even try university cause that also hardly works.

The fact is that it was better u leave, u were not going to gain anything from it. while some will boast, remember some are dead, some are crippled and some maybe in prison... trust me, if u see ur primary school classmate, u will hardly call them even after u collect their numbers... thats just the way the cookie crumbles

exactly. Focus on your grind. They have got what they could afford at the moment, so what? Keep grinding, learn new high income skills and break out of poverty. That should be your goal for life.

The tribal bigotry on Naira Land is more than enough for someone to quit this forum.

Not everyone has the stomach for some certain things.

Thank God for those of us who choose to stay despite the madness but it does not make us better than those who choose to exit the platform.

I think you seem to lack the courage to endure unpleasant situations and negative comments. That some of the WhatsApp members made those uncomplimentary remarks doesn't rule out the possibility of your learning a few things from other sane members of the group, which might change your life.
There's sense in every nonsense. It's possible to pick a piece of gold from a pack of garbage.

Some having or making money is nothing and meaningless until he/she states how they make their money and if its legit.

I can't be tripping or excited over criminals.

This is totally uncalled for! Mr it is called coping mechanism and people have a right to self preservation biko? Let people be with their emotions because you have no idea who they are and what they are going through abeg. I don't think you know any better than Zuckerberg who gives you the option to mute people when their content isn't palatable for you!

If only you knew Nairaland BEFORE all the hate and cuss from ilks like you !

The bigotry and hate impacts you whether you admit it or not! A friend told me that immediately he sees any crime thread on front page, even before he opens it, his mind has begins to profile the crime to a particular region. That NCAN nonsense

This is why you can easily call someone a coward because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks- and your mouth did puke the putridness of your heart!

@Op, check those guys posting all the cars and success stories, many of them are into fraud and other criminal activities! Like someone rightly posted here, no legitimate hustler would boast about wealth or look down on those who haven't made wealth yet because they understand the intricacies of genuine wealth.

Genuine wealthy people understand the wise saying that:

" Those who had their palm kernels broken by benevolent spirits owe the spirits only but the gratitude to be humble"

you shouldn't have left instead link up and get closer to those so called successful ones to show you way.. Something similar happened in our secondary group. In fact if we're contributing levy of 10k each, some guys will be dropping 200k just to oppress others. Omo I'll just pay my levy and move on but won't leave the group. I'm doing very well for myself but not going to impress anyone.

Same with my school alumni WhatsApp group.

However in another dimension

I was the most unserious student in our class. I failed more than panda.

So when they added me to the WhatsApp group and asked me to introduce myself. I told them I work with a bank as tech auditor.

There was silence on the platform for 2 days. The moderator asking me questions stopped responding.

since then, anytime I contribute to any discussion on the platform, they snub me.

They even quote names to show me they are not referring to me or not expecting me to join their discussions.

Whenever they are exchanging jokes and I join, everyone will just go quiet. Before you know it, I exited the platform. No one even private chat me to know why I left.

All I saw was, they wrote me off while at school, but was shocked and angry I am doing better than them
