Something tells me he might have known someone that knows something about his past... This person then used these guys in form of business front to get hold of him.

Did they convince the husband to become their partner in the organ harvesting business? Why was he always withdrawing large sums of money to transfer to them, picking their calls and meeting with them all the time? The story is not clear.

This your analysis sef hold some water o. I've been asking myself the same thing too. Perhaps, they're in both businesses. Locate a dude that "just got back", introduce some bogus business to them, fleece them off all their cash, kill and sell their parts off for more cash.
