I thought tinubus "reforms" of subsidy removal and naira floating has saved nigeria trillions of naira hence no need for borrowing?

Each Nigerian owing gbese of 650k✅
If his master plan of taxing the people to death for IGR and borrowing their future away without employing them into the civil service to provide free education, free healthcare, water & sanitation made him the landlord in perpetuity of the state, why won't he use it for the whole country?

Atuero:
In March, Lagos was indebted to the tune of N929.41 billion. It thus increased its debt profile by N43.42 billion in three months. The same scenario is witnessed by the Rivers state government, which increased its debt profile from N232.58 billion to the current N389.2 billion.

In a simple language, this write up is trying to expose that lagos owes external debt in dollar equivalent of N2tn ($1.2b) and another N1tn in domestic debt totaling N3tn ) no amount of viability can justify this. The state is deep in debt And mess hence, that shows that it has not enjoyed good leadership overtime despite all the hype of IGR bruhaha.

A 45-year-old resident and father of three, Mr.Fatai Lamide told PUNCH HealthWise that no building in the community has toilet facilities.

The Oyo State-born mechanic said, “We don’t have toilet in this area, including our compound. This canal that you see serves as toilet to all of us living in this area. We defecate inside nylon and throw it inside the canal.

“For people that don’t want to use nylon, they have a special bucket that they use after which they pour it inside the canal too.

The lack of state-owned pipe-borne water in the homes of Lagos residents has continued to be a source of concern, a non-profit group, Corporate Accountability and Public Advocacy Africa (CAPPA) has said.

At a press event to mark this year’s World Water Day, the group said its monitoring team’s visit to state-owned waterworks showed that most of them are not operational.

The group said the waterworks it visited include the ones at Maryland, Mushin, Ikorodu, Obalende, Agbowa, Onikan, Ikoyi, and Amuwo Odofin.

Only the one in Ikoyi is producing water, according to CAPPA.

For how long will this guys continue to borrow funds without planning how to pay back. The debt is just increasing day by day without ways of offsetting it gradually.

The truth is, replace tinubu with any other person and they would borrow, because the alternative is massive taxes and massive removal of subsides plus actually fighting corruption

All of the above are unpopular.

So, peter and atiku if they was in charge would borrow.

1.3m bpd provides 80% of our income. Let that sink in. That's enough if we were the size of Qatar or Libya. Imf has been telling us to do the above.

More borrowing by govt leads to more inflation, more cost in the price of general good and lower standard of leaving for the populace, this is a mortgaging of the country's future because what the government is doing is pledging any future revenue to paying off interest on loans.

This is a generational burden that will be borne by our children and grand children .
You now see why countries that borrow from these international financial vampires never progress.

The monies are not even used for the purpose for which they are borrowed.

If govt lives well the citizens suffer. Learn from history.

The reasonwhy they borrow is simple

The alternative is removing subsides on power and education and health And taxing the 70% of people who don't pay taxes to federal and state governments as well as taxing the rich and making sure the corrupt have an appointment with Dr Guillotin.

Nigerians leaders don't want to do that because it means they get removed from office and sent to Dr Guillotin. So,borrow borrow borrow.

As tinubu has done , so have his predecessors

Nigerian politicians can sacrifice the economy to Molech if it gives them power for another minute.

( Reality is hard)

In plain English, Nigeria needs a budget of over 200 trillion naira to give everyone the good life. We don't have that, and the oil which makes up most of our revenue can only supply enough for a country of one million people. Our leaders are scared to take the hard road because it means they lose power. So, borrow and run away from reality.

Like our beloved frog eyes is doing.. lol
Is there no more subsidy on fuel?

The alternative to borrowing is government taxing every Nigerian hard. Everyone. Not just the 30% that pay income tax. Everyone.

Also removing subsides. In other words, electricity would cost 200 per kWh . Petrol would be even very costly.

And fighting corruption. Really hard.

But most of you don't like it.

Still, the oil money we use to feed cannot feed 200 million people, if it was spent without looting. And tinubu is too scared to be kicked out in 2027

So, we borrow. Because the alternative is not popular
