Nigerians need to GROW UP and face reality. People either have to pay MUCH MORE tax in the form of indirect and direct taxation or the govt has to borrow. People seem to think they can get something for nothing. No be so. In the developed world you are taxed to the teeth. Income tax, property tax, fuel tax, VAT /sales tax on practically everything...... Personally I would love to see Nigerians made to pay more tax, that way this there 'I don care' attitude to how they are governed will finally end |

nairalanda1:You too go and read your own comment..Why won't he call u a government propaganda agent?? ...u are using non-existent subsides as excuse for this incompetent government's continuous borrowing and mismanagement of our economy... Formerly it was fuel subsidy and the unfloated naira u said is not sustainable and kept using as excuse to say nigeria is broke....now it's education & health subsidy that has been removed, calling for 70% tax Even if 100% tax is acheived..it won't amount to anything....1).more than 80% of Nigeria are under the 30-100k per month earners.. 2) and embezzlement is too high... One official will be stealing in trillions....renovation of houses for 7billion...car for 5billion for just one person... The wastage is too much ...the money borrowed is not properly utilized.... Yet you are still accusing Nigerians of not paying enough tax... Start taxing air, and poóp...so u can get more money for embezzlement |

bjdon:We have heard this English of pay more tax or borrowing..we get it......The question is, to what end? Of what benefit is it to the pple?? The noise u guys made for removal all subsidies and floating the naira is that it will make government have more money to do more.. where is the more sir?? U have switched to more taxes....for what benefit?? It's like yall just want more money in the hands of those that see it as their right to spend on themselves as government officials.. The pple no longer benefits any form of incentives from their common wealth...the few road and bridge projects are smoke screen for embezzlement..... All subsidies are gone....Nigerians are paying heavily for all their expense with no support from their common wealth.....drugs thats used to be N3000 goes for as high as N18,000... Those paying tuition of 25k now pay 180-400k depending on the school.... So, again sir .....what exactly are u calling for more taxes and borrowing for sir..?? |

nairalanda1:Well....U ddnt disagree with me ..u are only being mentioned for fallaciously justifying borrowing and embezzlement with education, health subsidies that currently don't exist ..... |

advanceDNA:Looks like you think that you should be free to walk into any shop and take stuff without paying. Well, we aren't at true communism or the post scarcity level yet. Plus it is kind of funny that you think that less than 30 billion dollars can sustain a nation of 200 million people. And it is kind of sad that you support tinubu borrowing instead of facing reality. Well, for your mind.... Romania |

advanceDNA:Well, you do think I am a Romanian , so I can't discuss with you. Change your thinking , then we can talk. Plus you are supporting the government borrowing if you are opposed to taxation |

nairalanda1:Lol....200million pple..?? That's stale point....that was the days when subsidies is paied for all to enjoy cheap fuel, cheap imported goods backed naira, subsidize health care, next to free university tuition ... Now Nigerians are paying for their expense.. so which 200million pple are u spending the money on. A bulk of the revenue generated from oil and IGR is wasted on running the government and embezzled...but u are always ignoring that facts and blaming it on pple not paying tax.. So yes..he was justified to cal u a government propaganda agent |

nairalanda1:Yawn.... u can call urself wateva u like.... I'm against mismanagement of revenue...no amount of taxation will save a nation with embezzlement high to the heavens... There are nations managing the revenue generated from their natural resources and have no need to even tax their citizens....in Africa nations, even those with population less far less...all revenue ia stolen and claim the pple need to pay more taxes..... Keep at it ....aregbesola, Amechi, etc can suddenly see clearly now that they no more benefiting from embezzlement ...... It will soon be ur turn |

nwirinedu:Therein lies the problem So, borrowing. Every Nigerian leader does it. It's why we have massive debt. We have had bad Nigerian leaders since independence ( tinubu included) because they are all scared to take the right decision. Even this subsidy removal was forced on Nigeria by the debt eating over 90% of our revenue |
