Are there alternatives to POP that can accommodate ceiling fan?

I don't like the idea of standing fan. It is not as effective as ceiling fan, takes up critical space, takes up a part of socket, need you to keep re-positioning it and it is mot advisable in a home with little children, make dem no go put hand inside.

PS: I know about AC, as an alternative to fan. But it can not be used all the time due to energy constraints.
