I agree in part, he’s a major beneficiary but some people are bent on making him look bad. I’m not an insider but I’m very sure that man has made sacrifices for this country. It’s saddening that patriots are often demonized and made to look like the problem rather than part of the solution, absolving the main culprits - the system

The real question here is: who is the system?

Dangote can decide to source for his crude and export 100% of his output, whilst paying the necessary taxes to LASG and FG and still break even by miles.

Ask yourselves why our government owned refineries haven’t been able to function at optimal capacity for over 20 years - the system.

…Yet we keep blaming Dangote 🤦‍♂️
Good submission!

how is it great newshuh He is using dollars to buy the crude. Meaning the refined product will be expensive
Was it any different when he was using naira to buy ?

You want to compare the humongous consumption in the US with Nigeria’s negligible consumption?

budaatum:
Most refineries need a mixture of different crudes, so Dangote importing is no surprise. Even when USA had enough crude oil of its own, they still imported different grades of crude from elsewhere.

With your kind of reasoning, I am confident that there is hope for this nation.
Corruption thrives in a country when gullible followers don't call out the corrupt leadership. Use your superior reasoning to speak out against the decay in the country.

Dangote does not refine crude oil for Nigerian consumption alone.

Why not build a refinery that suit our crude. It doesn't make sense
id4sho:
I disagree ma'am, can't the refinery work with one crude oil grade huh
Dangote's refinery does suit our crude oil. It would have been a stupid investment if it didn't. A blend of crude oils are however required for the different products a refinery produces, and that's apart from the difficulty Dangote has reported in getting Nigerian crude oil.

If he can get cheaper oil from elsewhere, he'd be stupid not to take it and instead let himself be held to ransome by the cabals that control Nigerian crude oil. The fact he can get and refine crude oil from anywhere shows how astute a manager he is.
Re: Dangote Resumes US Crude Purchase After Three Months by 1gbdata: 10:17am On Nov 21, 2024
He should be prepared to supply USA too after production. It's contradictory to advocate for stopping imports while still importing. The refinery has become a significant issue for the Nigerian people.

Coming from same you Igbos that claim Dangote refinery will not work till 5050

This your new take is shocking to say the least.

WorkTheTalk:
NNPC in the mud. You think Dangote is Nigerian looters ATM (treasury) that you have looted for the past 3 decades via refinery maintenance, oil importation and fuel subsidy.

Since Dangote refinery came on board, NNPC has being playing the usual dirty games to frustrate it, and sold the dummy to the gullible public that Dangote wants to monopolize oil sector. NNPC can now continue with fuel importation, while Dangote import crude oil. Game on.

For those who swallowed the baits from NNPC and its corrupt affiliates to blame Dangote of oil sector monopoly, you can now tell your friends and family members to build refineries, buy cheap crude oil from NNPC, produce fuel locally, and sell cheaper than the current NNPC controlled fuel price. Let Dangote breathe.

I'm a Nigerian. The same tribal sentiments most of you run with is what is killing the country. Can't you counter narratives without going tribal for once?

Think availability. More expensive and available is cheaper if it keeps the refinery running. Its like a barber using expensive generator when there's a power cut. He'd lose money if its shut down.

Good news

The Dangote refinery is really making waves in the Nigeria oil sector. I hope his competitors would also step up so that the price of fuel would be affordable for the masses
Who are his competitors?

This is one aspect of Dangote's business where I think he wasn't smart and calculative.

For Cement, he acquired and owns his feed stock.
For refinery, he should have acquired and owned his oil well to produce and supply his refinery. That way, he would have been self sufficient and not being made to become a content creator as seen in previous clips.
It dont quite work like that/He just cant acquire a well operate and supply itself
