I dont knw what u mean by processing fee of 38,500. As long as am concerned, if they did their biometrics in lagos, they need not pay any money except they want to make use of the delivery service. They had to pay a one way return service, though i dont knw how much it is now. Tootfred: |

Did your parents need to book appointment to submit their passport? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by MumTee: 7:23pm On Nov 20, 2024 |
Hello all, what's the new rule on passport submission? Is appointment needed to submit passports. My parent intends to go submit their passport at VFS tomorow morning. I had tried booking appointment but the appointment portal only brought out the "biometrics" option. My question is "Is an appointment required for submission of passports at VFS Lagos"? Thank you. |

Thankfully my Canada visitor visa has been approved after several months of waiting! The best available ticket from LOS-YYZ is United Airlines with a layover in Washington Dulles Airport. I'm aware that I would have to go through customs in Washington and would need to get my luggage and re-check for my connecting flight to Toronto, I also have a U.S. visa so I should be fine getting through. Is 4 hours enough time to go through this whole process or would it be recommended to go for a longer transit time instead? Has anyone gone to Canada from Naija via a U.S. transit? Thanks. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Opeyemi007: 1:21am On Nov 21, 2024 |
4 hours might be short o, but it depends on the passenger traffic when you land. I spent more than two hours on the queue in Miami before I could clear immigration. Before getting your checked in luggage and checking in for the other flight which might be in another terminal, it might be too tight. Trydifferentjok: |

Honestly, i queried it, because i wonder why they had to pay that much. They have their biometric valid till 2028, so they didnt need biometrics, but the processing fee was 38500 per person and to DHL back to them was 36000 per person which was exorbitant. They also changed them 1200 each to photocopy 2 pages of biodata Also to be certain they paid to the right people is the VFS office now on the ground floor? They said it has so many cubicles. Just to be certain they went to the right place. That was why I asked the questions yesterday to get help, but no response. It is well!! angie88: |

Hello house, I’m about to apply for a visit visa for myself and my mum. I’m confused by the old and new portal. PLEASE is there any advantage of using either the old or new portal. I read that I might not be able to apply for someone using the new portal. Thank you All. |

Thanks guys. I put a call through to their call center. I was informed that we no longer need an appointment to submit passports. I went there earlier this week and just walked in. I was done in about 10 minutes. Simple and easy. Everyone should take note of this. yoyome20: |

NowisGod109:When did you submit your application and when is the tour scheduled for? Lastly, did you put in any card details? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by NowisGod109(f): 2:15pm On Nov 21, 2024 |
humblemoi:I am submitting tomorrow. Still merging docs. I just checked my mail now and I saw cancellation notice. I used my gtb $$ card whc I entered. I intend submitting like that without booking them again. I hope it won't affect it |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by humblemoi: 2:41pm On Nov 21, 2024 |
NowisGod109:To be fair, no one knows if it will sway the decision making. The best you can do is to just package your application watertight to ensure you have done your best and whatever the outcome, you wouldn't feel bad. What other folks do is to just write out their proposed plans in a statement of explanation and then, hope for the best. If you considered booking a tourist package, it could expire before you get the decision, so just go with what you have in mind. |

Ahh okay thanks for this, think I’ll opt for the 6 hour layover option then, should give greater leeway. Opeyemi007: |

Trydifferentjok:4 hours should be fine if your flight to Canada is still via United. Yes you clear your luggage but you simply move done a little and but it back on a carousel since you have a connecting flight.Uniyed officials are there at baggage. The only time you spend is getting to your new gate. |

The new portal is easier and less papers to be filled. I would suggest you go through the new portal. Less likely to make mistakes. EllyCiciCarter: |
