I don't understand. Why are some regions reduced in percentage? Does it mean people that were literate in 2019 are no longer literate ?

they are always bitter and sad when others outshine them….it’s a known fact that western region have always been the bedrock of education in Nigeria having the highest number of educated people in Nigeria even their ancestors benefited from the free education in the west, but this clown always try to play down other peoples achievements. Thank God we are here to bust their lies😆😆

The truth is, South South will always come top in major or positive investments such as education, sport and infrastructures

In sport alone, four out of five indigenous coaches that graced the Super Eagles are from South South. Only Delta State boost of over seven FIFA standard Stadium while Lagos and Abuja can barely name three(3), respectively

With time, South South might takeover South West in terms of Industrial Infrastructure, especially if Seaport is optimally functioning in the region

The great Awolowo is from Ogun State. I happen to serve in that state and the NYSC Orientation Camp is a stone throw to his home town Ikenne

Brother, taking Ogun into account, from Mowe down to Opic, about two LGAs can't boost of eight (cool well equipped State owned Secondary School. Secondary Schools you see mostly are organized by the community, not even local government. That's how bad the state is in terms of education. The three states in that region I can is still trying to meet up education wise in terms of the old legacy are Ekiti, Oyo and Lagos

Okay.

So all these Igbos that dropped out of Primary school in their villages and jumped into Mallam’s trailer carrying tomatoes to Yoruba jabs to come and slave, are they also counted as part of Sourh West out of school children?

Very incorrect.
How did they arrive at the figures quoted please? Bear in mind that Nigeria has a literacy level below 65%.

Absolutely... Well said. I'm glad you brought up the historical FACT of the former Bendel State UPN Governorship of Professor Ambrose Folorunso Alli up. UPN was led by Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo during the 1979 to 1983 election cycles and the people of the Old Bendel State (now Edo and Delta States) voted for UPN because of the developmental strides of the party and they remembered Awolowo's progressive strides when he was the Premier of the Old Western Region which they also belonged to till the referendum of 1963. A lot of posters here are youngsters who are deeply ignorant of historical facts hence they type nonsense like the person you quoted.

Back in the late 2010s, I read a full-page Punch newspaper interview online of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa's biological father who said he attended a fantastic institution in the Old Western Region (the institution is now in Delta State) that was established by Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN. If Awolowo had been biased towards the people of the current Edo and Delta States when they were with the Yorubas in the Old Western Region of the 1950s till the 1963 referendum, the Okowa family would probably have prevented Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa's daughter from getting married to the Yoruba guy she is currently married to.

There's another popular Ijaw activist called Comrade Eva from Delta State who eulogized Chief Obafemi Awolowo in a media publication for introducing the free education program and more which enabled them to go to school. These FACTS put paid to the FAKE news being circulated by some demented trolls that the Yorubas and Awolowo did NOT do anything for the current Edo and Delta States when they were originally in the Old Western Region of Nigeria. Action Group politicians led by Awolowo were even in support of the referendum of 1963 because they believed it would bring more developments to the new Mid-Western Region and predictably that is what happened.
While we agree with you on the effort made by Awolowo to bringing education to the south west and mid-west, isn't it funny that people like Tinubu and co did not build on the legacy of Awolowo? while other regions are making giant strides in education the SW keeps going down all because of the 'Thuggish legacies of Tinubu'.
Today agberoos and thugs are placed in position of power while the educated ones defends them online
Go to twitter and see how 95% of yoruba youths are online defending MC Oluomo and Tinubu's style of leadership.

The south-south has always been known for high literacy rate since time immemorial. They are the real sophisticated region.

Chai! See Awolowo's legacy now playing a catch up with the oyel people.

Awolowo must be wailing in his grave now.
And if Awolowo is wailing what will Azikiwe be doing? 😜

Since APC came to power, NBS is now officially the propaganda mill of the demo nic party. Most Ibadan domiciled muslims have nothing to do with education. Sophisticated stark illiterates that queued up under the hot sun for hours to vote a microphone licking braindead cow are anything but literate.
Is APC really your problem because it shows that the only thing we complain about is government and I don't still believe they are our problems? Must we complain about anybody that comes into power? Good luck we complain, buhari we complain now tinubu we are complaining. Please let have our own sweet mindset instead of putting all our lives in the government thanks because even the next person to come to power, we will still complain which is not right. Poverty is loading if we continue complaining everyday

Igbos don't travel in trailer neither do Mallam carry tomatoes to Lagos, Igbos don't slave for anybody rather you'll be their slave in your own land as you are now. Find another joke this one is stale

It Probably means much more people were born in those regions by 2019 who didnt go to school or were illiterate, reducing the overall % of those regions.

Summary
As more people are giving birth each year and most of them have low literacy rate than the literate ones.
The overall % will continue to decline.

I saw one intelligent person here and I most salute him for wearing his thinking cap . He was the only one able to understand this statistics very well . In the while of South South igbos are doing well in there schools . The same goes for South West...To get a good result...you have t deduct the percentage if South Eastern student in other areas. AT the end you will understand that South East are the authentic leaders in this area ...Let me ask ...how many youruba students are in South east schooling ? Due to the nature of the South Eastern people ....there trade ir cimmetce lead the to many places . Majority of the times they only travel during festive period
Ode! You’re the smartest region, YET one hunchback bingo, namadi cownu told you Buhari died and was replaced with Jublil from Sudan and you foolishly bought the garbage grin
