I don't even understand how people record themselves crying. It's funny if you think about it. Warehouse job could be tedious but it is not even that cold in UK |

My first job when I was a student many years ago was washing plates at Manchester United after matches. I would have to put the plates coming from each stands in a dish washer. At some point, I turned into a machine myself. I could not keep up with the dishwasher and I was slowing the guy taking out the dishes from the other end and wiping them off with a towel before another guy arranges them in a rack. I worked 4 hours out of my 8 hours shift and escaped. The supervisor said they won't pay me. I told him they can keep the money. In my way out of the kitchen area, I saw another Naija friend of mine pushing a big pot up into an elevator, biggest pot I have seen in my life. He said they told him to go and wash it. I laughed and bid him farewell. I heard of another job where they had to lay bed in an hotel, that one I did not even bother to apply since alot of the naija guys were quitting one day after taking the job. Lol. Later I got a job with McDoland restaurant flipping buggers. I loved this job. Hard but manageable. Another friend applied for the same McD job 9 times, and he got rejected all through. I felt lucky. My final job was with NatWest bank selling credit card, loans, and accounts. I never knew I was a good sales person. I dey carry 2nd overall in sales in the UK Northwest region. My bonus at the end of the year was huge. Interestingly, the number one sales person was a Naija girl as well. |

Mindlog:Dr, UK is only meant for professional immigrant like you because you will not struggle for years unlike nonprofessional who will have to struggle for years before finding their feet. I've a niece who struggle for 11 years to get her papers, but she is okay now with little investment in real estate in Nigeria. I have some of my sec school mates that have spent over 20 years in Uk and still lamenting, only few of them that are professional are comfortable |

One thing Nigerians don't appreciate or let me say Africans generally is the weather we are blessed with.. cold if not properly managed can cause serious problem to one's health. flu, covid etc. thrive very well under cold weather. I think this one went with a different mentality cos most Nigerians relocating to cold countries go there for the bag (won lo fa gburu, gburu a si fa won). Nigeria is blessed abeg.. but plagued with bad leaders. |

Just imagine what our rulers expecially those of the evil apc last 9 years have brought upon us. Imagine the amount of people having to leave the country from been middle class to now poor migrants having to go through a lot to make a living. I was telling my driver this morning, at a time in Nigeria N1 was $2. What brought up the talk was how he spoke of the oyinbos he saw at an embassy event he worked at yesterday. I told him if this country had good leaders not crooks over the years those foreigners would have been the ones comming to Nigeria and not we going to them. I told him of how his 6 months salary would have been able to buy him a brand new car as obtainable elsewhere. Guess what? The kids of these politicians live another life. I wrote once of visiting someone at canery wharf, staying at a hotel apartment called the cove pinnacle( if I remember right), person paying £250 er night on long stay, surprisenly, I saw lots of black youths, on enquiries I found out they were Nigerians, most staying long term in bigger apartments paying 300, 500 daily! Most students or those on holiday. Elections will come again, poor us ordinary Nigerians will still be on this forum hailing and defending them. |

Gboom:Not yet a Dr, still running my Professional Doctorate program by the side. ![]() I know professionals especially in the healthcare sector have shorter transition time to achieve stability, reason I encourage many I come across to invest in their personal development to change pathway, which is way easier here in the UK than back home in Nigeria. |

Avoid cold room jobs You’re not even properly dressed for it, the cold will enter your head, ears and neck Look for another job if not it will destroy your joints in the future and it’s easy to get pneumonia |
