That means you have the physical card na?
santaclaws:
I think it's quite the opposite. A lot of people who enrolled for NIN couldn't get their cards. I did my NIN about 3 years ago and till date only the NIN slip and the digital card is available to me, which I paid for online and printed the card myself...

NIMC isn't being truthful here, they are generating revenue from change of name, slip printing, online verification etc, these are things that Nigerians pay for daily, you have to PAY online to access these services. I know how much I have spent on these things.

NIN slip dat can tear or get withered!
grandstar:
Some you just want to condemn. Stop judging.

He said millions of cards were produced and were left uncollected. Do you want them to make millions more free which would go uncollected?

If the international passport was free, even a dog would apply.

If you pay for the card, there's a very strong likelihood you'll collect it.

As already been mentioned, the NIN slip is sufficient for most people.

Just imagine the number of people who didn't bother to collect their national id cards because it cost them nothing. Since the NIN slip serves as a valid ID, I don't think anyone still needs that plastic national ID card.
This is one of the most senseless, useless agency in this country.
How will one register and wait after 10 years to collect his/her card?
Do you know the number of people that died within the time frame?
Do you know the number of people that relocate and nimc didn't provide clear information on where and how to collect the cards?
Now coming out to blame Nigerians for their effective service delivery?
Very absurd

The NIN card is different from the National ID card... What I have is just a plastic NIN card which you can generate from their app.

This is completely false;
I captured in 2013 and only to be told to wait for 10 year before the plastic card is ready.
I went back in 2020 and only to be told I had to wait till 2023.
I went in 2023, only to be told to visit another state to pick it.

They never issued the plastic Id cards to Nigerians promptly and they hardly send SMS or email when it is eventually ready.
How can they make it legal to delay printing ID card for so long that it became a norm to use the paper slip.

They charge from N1500 to N2500 to get a PDF version on your NIN. Imagine.
I wonder how much they'll charge for the plastic now. Way to go anyway.
Thank God people are debunking their lies... they generate so much money from their app & website. They charge you for everything from slip printing to change of data! It's shocking the way they tell lies and mislead the public as if Nigerians aren't the ones paying the money!

I registered years ago and I realized there was no need expecting a national ID card, so I just printed the plastic NIN slip and that's what I've been using.

Useless outfit
I was unable to print my NIN because the website is horrible. I have been suspended on Fiverr and Upwork because I was unable to do verification
Work on your useless website that refuses to give OTP

Be specific, it saves time.
I meant to say we don't mind paying as long as it is readily and easily available.

If the card was wait and get and not wait get a paper and go home to return when it is ready..we play too much in this country.
I guess you don't know about the card features? That's not the type of card you can wait and get.

I am not interested in the relevance of using the slip or the card. It is everyone's prerogative. Some even laminate. Some only present the NIN number. I have mine stored on my phone.

The issue here was that he was calling the government incompetent without evaluating the matters arising.

The government has printed cards which people have neglected to collect. Government now wants to charge people who now want cards to pay, and you're stating government is useless and calling it all kinds of vile names.

Why issue slip in the first place. In a saner clime....the plastic is ready under a week and sent to your home address
