The biggest headache of a business owner in America is being able to find worker. Most jobs have to offer bonuses upfront to entice worker that’s why it’s difficult for most Americans to process in their heads that people struggle for jobs

In Nigeria...we have been 'programmed' to believe we are the best just cos we came first in class and are better than the ones who are behind...of which doesn't realistically matter in the long run

I remembered my days as a teacher in technical school. We introduced students to these kinds of experience and it is the same Nigerian parents that used to attack us teachers, that that was not they sent their children for. Ask them to buy ordinary hand tools, you see parents ranting as if things just happen out of the blues. Nigerians and in extension, Africans don't believe in local tech, they always prefer what the oyibo man does.

All of them want their kids to be doctors, engineers,lawyers...etc

PS. What those kid are doing is part of engineering but many people dey look am like illiterate work

Atleast there is an enabling environment to thrive unlike here.
We don't have educational infrastructures to support this type of practical learning only theory.

Check how much they spend on education in those countries and check how much we spend here.

It used to be like this in Lagos too. I am glad that Lagos State Government is bringing these things back. We call it "Centre" those days.

Nigerian environment is not sustainable or suitable for practicals because of affordability of learning tools and availability of learning infrastructures. You might find some of this things in top notch private schools and not government schools. People that can hardly buy basics for their kids to use in school na em wan buy tools used for practicals? How much be cement now? How much be block? Western and Eastern environment allow this to thrive and not to talk of how the parents earn which enables their children to get most of its needs. Their education is subsides that the government provides all the learning facilities so that the parents can provide the rest but for here how much person dey earn wey e wan buy 1 bag of cement for em pikin to use as practical? Roof and ceiling no even dey some Govt schools sef.

I was once a teacher also.

This is what breeds technology and not the classroom type we were given in school.

They combine both theory and practicals; so don't think that they just woke up and jumped into practicals as you guys do in Nigeria.
In Nigeria, people will be doing handwork without knowing anything about the theoretical/scientific knowledge guiding the practical work.

My small niece said her course mate in 200L can't shut down a PC, unless pressing the power button majority of them couldn't write c'mon basic programming, nor to talk of source code...,They only get to enter their school computer twice in a month and naw after each student don pay #1,500 this one naw ISC/CSC...hence was beta cus all we four boiz close to her are computer literate and wizard,while one of our uncle owns a computer school..
