At a point even Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool were nothing ...teams like Nottingham forest ruled English football at some point

Just like all those other teams,an city got funding and also got a sensible manager to employ those funds properly...

Whatever is going on with Man city presently is fishy..and sooner or later, we will find out what it is
In the last 5 years, how much have Chelsea been spending? Any improvement in their games?

In Wenger's voice, even if 20 billionaires acquired each premier league team, only one team can win it

You dey mind that fair weather football fan. As far as he's concerned, City should be beating all-comers as if they are some super human player team. He's forgetting that players like everyone else have downtimes too.

This season could be very difficult for City considering that their competitive edge over the other top teams has been getting weaker by every season with the way they've dragged out the EPL title to the final games of the season.
Angelfrost:
Sack Pep?!! Is that a joke?!!

You don't sack a coach of Guardiola's pedigree... No nah!

Highest is to beg him behind closed doors to resign. grin

Anyway, they gave him a contract extension 2 days ago... Which means they believe in him.

Besides, the team is struggling due to injuries and a diminished squad.

Nothing like any rat. It's just nature trust me.

Not all the time things will go your way. Who is City in Epl in the last decade?
Boss, I have been watching epl since 1996 (been supporting Leeds since).

This is unusual for a top team of this current caliber... And Guardiola's team for that matter.

They should be thoroughly investigated.

That's match fixing, it can't happen.
It isn't match fixing if it's part of an under-the-table agreement with the premier League authorities who solely have the power to declare what is or isn't match fixing in the premier league grin

Hahaha, I have been following EPL as far back all those BBC commentary every Saturday, used to work in a pool company back then so I know about all those Leeds, Ipswich, Bolton, Carlisle even the likes of Aldershot used to come once in a while to EPL and return back to relegation.

How many years have Bolton exited EPL? Dont they used to be too EPL teams?

Having watched how Manchester City have been loosing matches over the recent weeks, what keeps coming to me is the financial fair play issues that have had hanging over them for a while..

I consider that these string of losses might be part of an under-the-table agreement between Man City and the Premier League authorities for them to "respectably" lose points instead of having such points summarily deducted publicly due to that FFP non-compliance

And with the way they are losing shamelessly match day after match day, it reinforces my thoughts that they are in quite a hurry to have all the agreed points lost so that they can get back to business...

Note...I have no concrete proof to back up this claim...but them going in the blink of an eye from being easily the most formidable premier League team to the serial losers they are presently has brought this possibilty to my mind
hmmmm. Is it only points they are supposed to lose in the financial fair play issues?

Fines can also be paid quietly ..

But my point is that, this Man City's string of losses is very suspicious.

What kind of ludicrous analysis is this?
Investigation of 115 charges that begins from when Sheikh Mansour and the Abu Dhabi royalty took over Manchester city in 2008. How the hell can losing points in one season cover up for investigation of 16 years beats me hollow.
And according to this your analysis how do you explain the loss in the Champions league?
The simple fact is the City team is an aging team with many of the vital players in their 30s or approaching age 30. Most of their midfield have lost their leg speed. Age catches up with everyone sooner or later.

In decades to come, it might be unknown team that will be topping EPL like the way City have been doing for years now

Everton hardly go on relegation yet always struggle every season

Nothing is permanent in life

It might be ludicrous to you, but not to me

Since you are part of the Premier League Disciplinary Committee, tell us how many of those charges Man City was convicted of and what the penalties are

If you don't, rest...

Man city is very likely paying up for something you aren't aware of.
