you want to compare the UK to Nigeria? How much is the minimum wage there? If someone can send their kid to the UK for education do you know how much it would cost in total? Or you think everybody pocket is the same abi? That is why you are a teacher if you cannot study and observe both the financial and psychological needs of a student and his or her sponsor then you are not a teacher at all. Education is not cheap that is why the government plays a part to contribute to the education but if they don't then how will the country afford it? Nigeria is relatively poor with people earning than people in the UK but you want them to pay and foot bills like those outside Nigeria when they can't even earn something reasonable? Lets not bring regional politics into it because it's something that goes round Nigeria not just in one region. How will they be able to provide when they are poor? Do you know how expensive things now is in the market? When things were cheap,govt didn't bother to capitalise on it and improve education. Next time if you want to compare make sure you also add how much they make a month compared to how much they make here in Nigeria a month. People get money that is why they send their children to schools with roof and ceiling.

The Ford Foundation (from USA) built and previously mentored, Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro in Ogun State. They had fantastic skills training workshops with adequate equipmentand tools. They also had farms and livestock for consumption and training in agriculture. If we had tried to build more schools like that or engaged students properly through the latter day 6-3-3-4 model, it would have made a huge difference in the lives of our youth.

Chinese buildings are always falling over. Cheating in school is also an entire industry in China (and for Chinese in America).

This is probably one of the trade high schools. Every state has them. Some people look down on them because they feel as though it means they're not aiming high for their kid.

In Africa the priorities education especially tertiary like its the forefront of civilization . Civilization is intelligence , intelligence is not education . Education is just an institution. Institution is what Africans worship as presented by these same whites who know that Civilization is fundermental knowledge and understanding of our world and the elements that makes it up. They are the backbone of infrastructures

Like the masons of the past and the likes, you cannot have Civilization without today's technicians & trade workers, real skill workers who have intimated understanding of their skills. They are not stupid they are experts too. They must be given their due respect and these jobs are what Nigerian graduates are running back to just to survive.

Education can make its come back later because its of no survivability right now with graduates trying to make end meet

A mere Educated african on the street will look down on an eletrician forgetting that without them no power for him at home. In the desert your money is nothing, your education wont fix practical things around you.

Even an eletrical engineer depends on the practical skills of the eletrical technician to get imagined results to light.

Nigerians generally do not trust government - and for good reason. That trust deficit will not be erased overnight.

That's an unusually nice and large event, but that type of education is pretty common. When I was in high school we could take technical electives that would amount to about 10-20% of course load. My school had auto shop, wood shop and computer lab. Next town over had welding and I was jealous our school didn't.

This is one of the reasons why most of them carries out their own repairs and renovations. Here we pay for all kinds of labour.

This skills pays well there. They are paid per hour. Same cannot be said in Nigeria

Beautiful, though I think parents still underrate our Technical colleges as they're not as mainstream as they should.
