So Nigerians Should Jubilate Because You Removed 20 Naira
It will only favour the marketers because they will still sell at the rate of 1,200 Naira.
They will have a whopping 660,000 Naira to gain.
20×33,000 liters (Truckload) = 660,000

Welcome to Nigeria where a crook and drug baron is the leader.

All that Dangote feuding with NNPC was manufactured to increase fuel to 1k. Without that artifical scarcity and fake quarrel, fuel would have been at 500 which was still high by Naija standard. A greedy man never changes
Don't you people not understand that the government can no longer afford the subsidy? So, the government should go and borrow trillions to subsidize petrol?

A litre of crude oil is about 45cents which is 720/litre? How will they now sell it for 500/litre?

IMHO, this is entirely a wrong window to look at the matter from...

If the FG was any serious in curbing monopoly and other "market vices" that cause unnecessary increase in prices of anything, they shouldn't only be involved in "chook mouth" matters but be active in also producing same products they want to tackle price ...

What say do you think they'll have in cases like these where they have zero serious investment in said industry? Na magick? Abegi...

Dangote is a business man and his company's aim is to make every profit they can, it's not his or his company's business if the country suffer as a result of their own success. That's a situation the FG should be guarding against with every big and mighty business in mind but here... We have these same people sleeping with these business men in secret and sinking the economy... At least, they shouldn't make it too obvious... SMH

Until this so-called oil producing nation starts to drill and refine their oil in their country, nothing will ever make this ancestor see hope for this nation. It's just unserious business abeg.

LC and TUC will not see matters like these as strike-worthy... Abeg make I rest leave matter...

The country is a failure already until they start getting things done the way it should be...

And you wereys should stop asking powerless individuals to forsake their source of livelihood to go trouble themselves fighting for a better Nigeria... Common sense should tell you it's suicidal and futile.

Activist gán no get d time na ordinary pesin... Abegi

The level and number of evil and GREEDY people in this country is incredible.

If Dangote reduces petrol price to ₦500 today, believe me it might take the filling stations at least 3 months before they'll adjust their prices.
Their excuses will be that they'll still selling old purchased products.
But there be increment and it'll take effect IN SECONDS.
Very true unfortunately.. Such greed!

..it's not Dangote fault it's the high exchange rate of 1750!naira per dollars causing the high costs of fuel..if the exchange rate is like from 700 naira and below to a dollar the price of fuel will be cheap and affordable...so the federal government has to appreciate and strengthen the naira against the dollars for fuel to be cheap

The game is the game

A lot of people don’t seem to understand what’s going on here…..if Tinubu & NNPC still choose to import, they’ll eventually incur serious debt and Dangote can still go on to reduce price
Heads or tails Dangote wins. If Tinubu and NNPC still chose to import, they will have to source scarce dollars by either borrowing or dip into our foreign reserve. Dangote can then partner with international banks and his international partners and buy crude abroad in dollars and sell refined products abroad in dollars. The dollars will never touch the hands of CBN or FG.

Same way Dangote will wake up one morning and increase price

That is the more reason why he shouldn't be the sole supplier of petroleum products in the country...

Marketers should continue importing petroleum products

Dangote should continue refining

Let the market be saturated with these products.

The price will remain down and stable that way.
.. it's the high exchange rate of 1750 naira to a dollar causing the high costs of Dangote refinery fuel..if the exchange rate is from 700 naira to a dollar the price of fuel will be cheap... even if the oil marketers import in which they will use 1750 naira to a dollar to import the price of the imported fuel will still be expensive because of the high exchange rate of 1750 naira to a dollar

Dangote is a clown. I supported buying from Dangote to boost our economy. Now I can see he doesn't mean well for Nigeria at all.
He is fully aware that the landing cost of imported fuel is #970 so he decided to reduce the price of his fuel to #970 ignoring the fact that #970 isn't actually the cost of fuel abroad, shipping cost and other expenses made it #970. Dangote"s fuel should be around 600 to 800.
No wonder Fg is giving marketers privilege to import.

This is good but not enough!
Dangote should reduce the Nigerian Price to at least N600,as he would still makes Profit, since no one is competing with him.
Besides,he should be more Patrotic now that More NIGERIANS are supporting him.
We have agreed that NNPC is a Fraud ,since inception and have been defrauding Nigerians, without Accountabilities and Transparency in its Operations.
Same with many Nigerian Institutions - like DISCOS, GENCO,etc.
Very Shameful Indeed!

20N ×33000liters is660,000. That's what they make after selling one truck. Before now the marketers used to sell a liter of fuel with 5N. So, 20N is even too much

the question is, what is the government going to do to ameliorate the rising cost of goods and services, should they stop this subsidy of a thing, because, as soon as petrol goes up, the price of goods and services goes up also, as almost everything in the country, revolves around petrol. This is the question. Some will say, it is a vexing conundrum.
