Nigeria's oldest Catholic priest, Thomas Oleghe, has passed away at the age of 104.

According to a statement by Gabriel Dunia, the Bishop of Auchi, Oleghe died at approximately 2:30 am on Sunday.

The statement reads, "With gratitude to God for a life well lived on earth I hereby inform you of the passage of the Rt. Rev. MSGR Thomas Oleghe the oldest Catholic priest in Nigeria as at today, to the great beyond at about 2.30am this morning on the 24th of November, 2024.

"He is of the Diocese of Auchi. He died at the age of 104. May his lovely and gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace. Amen."

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the late priest will be laid to rest on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

Agbako didn't look 101 though. He looked about 90, I doubt he was older than 94.

This priest definitely looks 100 at least.Likely has better records as well due to baptism, ordination etc

Indeed he lived a good life to live that old. But I can’t understand why someone will come to this earth and intentionally not to continue his lineage? I mean for everyone who continues his lineage there is hope the ancestors will lead one of his descendants to heaven thus preserving that family name for ages to come. Like proverb said “the righteous shall dwell in the land forever but the we wicked shall be cut off”.

Hmm this Bible verse just made sense to me right now. Indeed God is great. Take the issue of eternal life seriously like pastor righteousness will encourage you to.
