Catch and jail the smugglers or replace your corrupt officials at the borders. Don’t be giving us reasons why it should be increased more. |

Lol... If we produce enough of it, we can meet up local demand, and also export thesame petrol to other west African countries... No need to smuggle it out... |

They keep making excuses to raise fuel prices. Why can't they crack down on smuggling and implement effective measures to prevent petrol smuggling instead of troubling us with meaningless press statements like this? ![]() |

Them wan start again. The same narrative that they said Nigeria has the cheapest fuel in the world to justify the crazy price increase from 197 to over 1000 is what they’re trying to do again. Why not just increase it to 5000 a liter. |

Increase the price to equal the country they're smuggling to. If they smuggle it to US, make $4 per liter. Now that the naira is the worst performing currency, I wonder how far you guys can go in increasing the price. Government of confusion! |

Look at these jokers. There will always be a price differential, you re dealing with 2 diffrent countries. Hiking the price wont reduce smuggling. |

This is beneficial for the economy since our rate is already deregulated. The government should implement a special tax on petroleum product exports by road and legalize smuggling, which would create more business opportunities for Dangote, generate additional revenue for Nigeria, reduce stress for smugglers, and eliminate bribery at borders . |

These greedy people want to start another controversy and use style to increase fuel price again. If the smuggled petrol is not subsidised, please leave us alone as we are. |

It is as if they want to increase fuel again. Dangote refinery is not subsidizing so I don’t see any harm in buying from dangote and selling to other countries if the connection is there. |
