CodeTemplarr:simply a refection of single mothers and increased divorces. the statistics will count a household whether there is a man present or not. |

babakb:has it occurred to you that these households have no men and these are single mothers and divorcees? Statistically a household is a household so long as there is at least one parent and at least a child present whether there is a man present or not. with the rise in single parents and baby mamas is it a surprise there is an increase in women led households? |

Fact is.... Our fathers are suppressing us, the 50's to octogenarians are threatened by the mental capabilities of the men millennials down to the Gen-Z's. To be sincere, These guys starve us of opportunities especially in the cities. they would rather give their side-chicks or any woman willing to offer them herself the big jobs. Go to FIRS, CBN, NNPC Cooperate offices, DPR, Even federal ministries these days... the ratio of men to women is 1:10 (No Jokes) ask people working there. Who is giving them the Jobs? even contracts self now... na sugar babies dey run am for abuja... go to katampe extension and see, that one na like sugar-baby resettlement. ![]() Its that bad, men now prefer getting jobs/abroad-sponsoring their daughters before attending to their sons... i ve seen this sad reality first hand. You go see director with 3 grownup boys for house, dey submit CV of one yeye small girl because of nyash. No even go private sectors oo... a women will naturally favor a female over males, cus of her personal job security, she fears intimidation. and men again still prefer female employees cus of the other room. Sadly eh, their deeds will return to hunt them, by the time they all get old and retire, this sugar-babies and ladies will be assuming managerial positions and automatically they will ve no influence over them anymore.. And the ladies, will in turn comeback to disrespect them and their sons for being LAZY and irrelevant in the society. WHAT DO I EVEN KNOW, ANYWAYS! ![]() |

Tallesty1:I’m thinking this is just for the households where the women are the major breadwinners. It will probably be a similar figure for the households where the men are the major breadwinners (25-30%). Then the rest of the population will be tied between the 50/50 couples |

CodeTemplarr:How many Bread bakers are out there? For every one male bread baker in Nigeria now, there are 2 female breadwinners and heads of households...I'm giving you real-time data on female breadwinning. NBS deliberately underreported the percentage of FBW so they don't bruise the male ego |
| Re: 22.3% Households In Nigeria Have Female Breadwinners - NBS by idahme(m): 7:29pm On Nov 25, 2024 |
Tallesty1:They are hard working but you still don't understand how relationship and this data works. Most of those hard working ladies have husbands who are more wealthy than they do further plummeting the figure. It is not uncommon to see a hard working lady but still holds the idea it's not her duty to contribute to the welfare of the home irrespective of their earning power. Those ladies aren't classified as bread winners even if they have income more than their husbands but usually ladies with such mindset are highly hypergamous. |

idahme:Life doesn’t begin and end in the city, and Gen Z ladies are not the majority of married women, so you don’t have to draw your conclusions based solely on your experiences or others’ experiences with them. I’ve traveled around this country, mixed with different cultures, and can tell you unequivocally that irresponsibility is not gender-based. Igala women—most of them—run the household, and Idoma women do the same. I’m talking about those in the villages. Let’s not even get started on Bayelsa or Delta. How about Baba Iyabo, who drops 2k in the morning before leaving the house and returns in the evening to eat his fill, or Papa Emeka, who drops a single tuber of yam and expects to eat to his fill at night? What about Aboki husbands, whose wives are in a different state, surviving on 5k or 10k sent to them every weekend? Guy, Nigerian women are hardworking, and they take care of their families—especially their children. |
