Since marketers are free to buy anywhere that favours them... There is going to be a price shift (significantly or not) but my fear is that, we don't start witnessing the throwing of explosives by competitors. At this stage, we need improved security systems over these huge investments.

what we should be concerned with is the distribution pipeline. When i was young you never saw fuel tankers on the road because petrol, diesel and kerose was pumped around the country via pipelines.

Only fools will be deceived by this nollywood magic made by NNPC . How can NNPC be talking about a working refinery while price of fuel is going up daily and dangote the supposed refinery owner is also asking for dollar to import fuel like marketers?

Get yourself busy, don't let petrol pump price determine your fate, there's much money in getting busy, as a seller, there's a lot of money in today's Nigeria market, if you keep wailing and doing nothing, you will continue to suffer more than before

With all 4 refineries in full production, the price of fuel should drop to N500 or less a liter.
The price of petrol cannot drop to N500 per litre if the price of crude oil does not reduce substantially.

As a matter of fact, no country in the world sell unsubsidised petrol at the equivalent of N500 per litre.

They plan to sell the refineries, price wont drop. This is confirmed by CBN raising interest rates, these actions guarantee inflation will continue and prices of general goods and services will hike. CBN is not interested in stabilizing the economy.

Do you mind expantiating more, I wish to understand pls

CodeTemplarr:
I hope it drops to the N500 and N200 they have been demanding Dangote start selling fuel to them. These cabal just milked Nigeria until politicians who want to continue the nigerian projects put a check on their structure of importation. As it is now. It is better the cabals use Dangote as a cover/reference point and produce at around N970 then smuggle into neighbouring markets to sell at sizable profit. From consumption to production/exportation. That should put forex in private hands of the smugglers and strengthen the Naira

Dangote can't lose cos he will export his own to other countries, if NNPLC sell at a very low price. Let keep our fingers up to see how much our own state refineries will sell their products.
I'm not talking about the price. I'm talking of the crude input

These guys really wants to deal with Dangoté and his massive refinery investment since the greedy man doesn't want to play ball with them.
They will use P.H and Kaduna refineries to mess his own up.

Dangoté is greedy, so whatever he sees from them let him take, we sane Nigerians will not involve ourselves in their fight.
Including the corrupt cesspit called NNPCL cabals who manipulate local crude prices.

How can a local refinery sourcing crude locally be selling petrol at such expensive price...?

That's why I have been saying this to those people screaming monopoly this, monopoly that, you don't tell a private business man to bring down his price of petrol just by mere words as if you dashed him money to build it, you do it by getting other refineries working.

I believe he may have been informed of this development long before now hence the reduction of his fuel price from 990 to 970 naira.

NNPC will not sell at a low price, they are a profit making business. The price of petrol is not coming down if the price of Crude doesn't come down.
Will it affect the exchange rate.

It should. Because we can satisfy local demand with our refineries, we will have excess for export.

We make more forex from export of refined products than we make from crude.
