Why shouldn't that be? Is it possible to be loyal to Nigeria if you are not loyal to your ethnicity? You are fighting against Our Maker , God, and nature if you're not loyal to your family while you want to be loyal to your neighbourhood, state or country. You cannot succeed.

You want to dismantle their ethnicity and foster a strange concept on them. It will never work. Return the country to the structure it was on at independence then Nigeria will be strong and grow. Let each ethnicity govern itself and understand the necessity of Nigeria for all, then we'll be strong and great together. Restructure, regionalise.

You are right. They are all making noise of the so called separation. They want Biafra but still interested in becoming the president of Nigeria. Let them not contest any elective positions from henceforth to 2027 general election. They should also not participate on any national programs like immunization, census and others. Let them stop getting federal government jobs and others already should resign and those appointed as board members or chairman should step down, then the world will know they truly want and independent nation. You can't eat your cake and want to also have it.

That's how human beings are configured, and it's to the benefit of all. So, forcing a united Nigeria on us without working along that line is why it will always fail. Local council structure can take care of divisions among people of the same ethnicity which can form a region.
