He no lie. I am currently on the Island. Ajah to be precise and things are ridiculously expensive.

Sachet water goes for 500naira per bag which will be increased to 1000naira per bag in the coming days when their so called strike is over.

I don't get it. I don't understand the craze at all and why things are very very expensive

I still buy pure water per N300/bag in Lekky county here, Buy from those cabstar in Ajah.

Houses are Cheap in Ikorodu....

From there you can connect the Island through the Waterways

Very Cheap
I heard there are so many hoodlums there. The distance is still far away from Lagos central area.

Many move to the island due to jobs and some connections or networking (in this case one must have a skill to network with). Island sha get opportunities. But one must be doing well atleast to tap the opportunities

Those days, a lot of actors and actress often go to hang out at cafes and restaurants around Chita in Surulere. That was where they all gathered most nights and shared information.

They lived in surrounding areas like Lawson, bode George, Aguda and Adelabu area .

There was nowhere one would live at far Ikorodu or mowe or Ikotun and be able to make those nocturnal meetings. .

There was one that used to come almost everyday from Ojota area with his power bike then, one night while going home, he ran into a broken down trailer and died.

Lagos residents wants to live on the Island, not Lagos boys. Go find out. It’s these boys from Western and Eastern villages that want to live inside the water.

Especially the celebrity types.

Please NOTE that Ajah is a community that is located on Lekki Peninsula (Ajah is NOT located on an Island). Victoria Island, Ikoyi Island, Lagos Island, etc, are just 3 out of all the big or small TRUE Islands located in Lagos State that are completely surrounded by water.

There is a difference between an Island and a Peninsula. An Island is a landmass that is COMPLETELY surrounded by water, while a Peninsula is a landmass that is NEARLY surrounded by water.

A lot of uninformed new comers to Lagos State keep saying they are living on the "Island" when Ajah, Lekki Phases 1 and 2 (which used to be part of the former reclaimed Maroko slum that was demolished in 1989 by the then military administrator of Lagos, Brigadier-General Raji Rasaki), and other surrounding communities are all located on the Lekki Peninsula landmass. The entire Lekki Peninsula landmass got it's name from the Ijebu town of Lekki in Ibeju-Lekki LGA of Lagos State. The entire Ibeju-Lekki LGA, Ikorodu LGA, Epe LGA, and Ajah are parts of Ijebuland that are located in Lagos State which extend right into Ijebuland in Ogun State.

Hope this helps.
