It may change his yield, but he should build a wall around his property, and put razor wire on the top.

I was checking prices, and razor wire is like 15K to 30K. Considering it may protect all your crops, I'd say it's worth it.

If someone can't spare the money, you could probably use scrap metal to make spikes and put that up there. It shouldn't be hard to file down metal or find sharp pieces.

Pit bulls are dangerous, but it could be an inexpensive way to keep thieves out.
